Agreed . . . With a Tower of giraffes in the team we really should be capitalising from set pieces.

Compare to the mayhem Burnley caused us for the late corners. Needs a big rethink imo as it is always the simplest way to a goal

Lewis Cook is worth looking at in my opinion. Young and English with a good passing range, was compared to Modric by Defoe who’s played with both. Ashworth will know him from the England set up. I can’t help but feel we need some more quality in central midfield. I think Propper has been found wanting at times particularly when receiving the ball in deep areas from Ryan. Cook has struggled with injury this season, so hasn’t featured much, but he’s got time on his side and can be coached to our footballing philosophy. Also I doubt any ‘bigger clubs’ will be sniffing around.

So who should we swoop for?

Seems to be few players in this years relegated teams who might be worth a look

Foster
Sarr
Deulofeu
Doucoure
Wilson
King
Brooks
Ake
Solanke
Cantwell
Buendia
Godfrey
Pukki

Ben Godfrey looks like he's off to join Ancelotti's revolution at Everton. £30m bid submitted, Norwich likely to accept £35m with add-ons.

Any of the relegated players looking more suitable now we're further down the transfer window? Surprised Brooks and Cantwell havent moved on yet.

Leeds looking at Cantwell, looks like their move for Bayern midfielder has fallen through so expect he'll end up there. Villa supporting relative says Brooks is desperate to move to Villa Park, Bournemouth want £40m but might accept £35m as deadline day looms closer.

None of them. They've all got ther teams relegated.

Besides, there's the ''established PL teams' arguement - even B'mth have had 5 seasons. As a result, they are asking (and sometimes getting) £20 - £30M plus for their failed players.
We're not regarded as 'established' yet - so we just get offers of £15M if we're lucky (OK, Leeds offered £25M for White but they were desperate) - don't need anyone from the relegated teams - let 'em fleece more desperate teams than us.

Hold the nerve ........................

This thread will really gain traction after 5pm on Monday when the overseas / PL-PL window shuts.

Hmmm. Not very open minded. There are good players in bad teams

More open minded than thinking we're doomed, the management don't know what they're doing, and all that guff.

True but I never said any of those things.
