Am I the only one that thought other than the goal Ward was shocking? He must have lost the ball in a dangerous position about ten times.

gets knocked off the ball too easily, runs into blind alleys & too often finds an opponent with his passes but for some reason always looks as if he might just do something a bitspecial

El Abd 6 - Good defender, but absolutely apalling distribution of the ball. Call me a traditionalist, but I like professional footballers with some degree of skill when it comes to controlling and passing a football.
His defending in the first quarter of the match was atrocious and could easily have lost us the game. He needs to pull his socks up.

Agreed. He's got something about him but he is so wasteful with the ball. Still, he scored the winner, can't complain too much. :clap2:

Kuipers - 8 Made some great saves and was generally solid even with an injury. Fantastic.

El-Abd - 6 His distribution from full back is poor, much better when he canplay short simple passes in midfield. Was a bit shaky early on but improved.
Lynch - 8 His return to form is largely the reason for our improved defence imo. Excellent.
Butters - 7 Solid.
Rents - 6 Still a way to go but a good little player.

Cox - 7 Worked hard and looked to create, crossing from the left isn't always great.
Bertin - 8 Looks an excellent find, always in the right place at the right time, good tackler, good passer.
Hammond - 7 Got stuck in and passed the ball well. Scored again. Him and Bertin is a very promising partnership.
Ward - 6 Extra mark for the goal, good initial shot and followed it in well. Otherwise disappointing, gave the ball away constantly once giving Tyson a 1 v 1. As above, there is something there, but he needs to improve.

Savage - 8 In these last two games he's been better than I ever thought he would be. Good in the air, holds the ball up, decent pace once he gets going, hard worker. Occasionally he is clumsy and doesn't seem to know what he is doing, but on his way to proving me well and truly wrong. :)
Gatting - 6 Not really in the game today.

Subs:
Revell - 7 Good to see him back and his work ethic is the same as ever. I think we need to be careful though, don't throw him right in just yet.

Elder - 8 Impressive, similar to Savage in a way, slightly quick I think, looks a useful prospect and helped us change the game.

Fraser - 7 Normally an 88th minute sub wouldn't get a rating but that 2 minutes plus stoppage time seemed long enough! Won the ball a couple of times.

Thought Forest were a nasty team, what with Grant Holt elbowing, fouling, and timewasting all game, their moaning manager, their subs giving it the big one from the dugout, just general gamesmanship going on.

It was a great game once our goals went in but up until then I thought it was all pretty ordinary

Kuipers - 8 - Two great saves earnt us the extra 2 points

El-Abd - 6 - Don't think he had a great game. Distribution was very poor. I think the ref was in two minds as to whether to book him for the collapse to the floor

Butters - 7 - Steady as ever

Lynch - 7 - Another good game

Rents - 6 - Still looks like his has a lot to learn Can see Mayo back for Gillingham

Bertin - 8 - Looked as good as anyone on the pitch to me. Need to sign him up long term - quickly

Ward - 7 - Shows great comittment and got the all important goal but gives the ball away too much

Hammond - 7 - Another captains performance

Cox - 6 - I didn't think he had a great game and got skinned for their goal

Savage - 7 - Made a nuisance of himself but doesn't win enough balls in the air for a big bloke

Gatting - 6 - I'm still not convinced

Revell - 7 - Good to see him back on the pitch, I think he will make a big difference

Elder - 6 - Another big lump that can make a nuisance of himself

Agree with that but would give Kuipers a 7.0/7.5.
Couldn't kick and again tried to drop the ball into the path of a forest player.
Is that supposed to show how rubbish he is? The fact he tries to drop a ball at the feet of the opposition striker and fails where as Henderson would have got it spot on and managed to do it?...

:lolol: :jester:

I was loitering outside the Sportsman after the game and they were heading for their car.

I shouted out...in Spanish :dunce: It was the first thing that came out. Luckily they didn't hear me or understand me.
