would like to see the first goal again as it looked to go under Hendo who otherwise had a good game. He could be more commanding but that will come as he gats older. Hammond impressed but El-Abd was my mom. Robinson was below par but I'd rathet he was off today and picked up in the league and wonder if he missed Coxy?

Henderson 2. My granny could have saved the first 1, a weak misshit shot a foot away from him, that barely reached the back of the net, and why the f*** didn't he collect the inital cross for the 2nd, it was only 2 yards out! TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR AREA YOU PLANK! We won't win again with this tosser playing! If we an't agree about Henderson/ FDM, get rid of both and get 1 proper keeper!
O'Ceurill 6. Looks v quick and could be a useful addition
Lynch 7. Looked solid, didn't do much wrong
Butters 5. Just too slow at this level
Mayo 4. I like Kerry and don't think he's as bad as some of you make out, but out of his depth today
Fraser 6.
ElAbd 8. Looks v good in holding midfield role
Hammond 8. Best game in a long while, actually looked class today
Frutos 6. Not really involved too much
Robinson 4. V poor, like a rabbit in the headlights, occasion too much for him
Revell 6. Worked hard enough, no support

Subs:
Hart 6. couple of decent crosses
Rents 5. Did he really come on? Didn't contribute anything
Gatting 4. Replaced a tiring Revell, you knew it was all over when he came on!

I agree with all of that, except Henderson. That's quite simply toss. The first was a volley low right in the corner that he did very well to get to, the second and thirds he didn't have a chance with!

Encouraging to see Hart on the right though. He's not a world beater, but that's the first time we've had any width down the right since Reid got injured

It looked like it went straight through him - I thought he has saved it - sorry but another Henderson howler.

Anyone who saw the replays on MOTD would have clearly noticed that Hammond ran right in front of Henderson just before the strike for the first goal, and that it also took a deflection. Having got there Wayne might be dissapointed, but to be honest he did well to even get anything on the ball.

How anyone can call him a 'tosser' or a 'plank' i don't know. There really are some pathetic Albion fans:nono:

It is because he is not the former Dutch Marine. He could discover a cure for Malaria, AIDS and the common cold, whilst keeping clean sheets all season, but he will still not be anything like Michel.

Hendo 6 Was delighted to see his B'muff mistake hadn't affected his confidence, looked at his most commanding for a while. But maybe he might have got to the crucial opener

O'Ceuruill 6 Strong and willing but looked more like a centre-back
Butters 7 Thought he was awesome in the first-half where he dominated Cole, shame the game got away from him and the rest of the team in th second, joint MOTM alongside Hammond
Lynch 7 It seems the better the opposition, the better he plays
Mayo 6.5 a decent game, gave away a professional foul/yellow card expertly and did not let that bother him the rest of the game, stuck well to Tevez in the second - I'm not sure that was the reason Tevez eventually swapped wings but I like to think so

Fraser 5.5 Did his running/harrying job but lacked the confidence the few times he got forward
Hammond 7 Sat in front of our back 4 and looked at home directing play, very happy with his performance in such company. Joint MOTM
El Abd 6 Brave and busy but as the slightly more advanced central midfielder probably was never going to be a link man to the front two, which was where our game plan finally fell down
Frutos 7 Nice comeback from Frutie, looked our one reliable offensive threat on the day, sensibly withdrawn when he tired in the second half

Robnson 5 You have to say a disappointing day, ball never ran to him or for him.
Revell 6 Ran hard and was desperately unlucky the pesky ball would not come down when he looked to be clean through early on.

Rents 6 Calm passing but the game was unfortunately up when he came on
Hart 7 A couple of nice surges, deserves a go against Bristol in place of Fraser
Gatting 6 Game was completely gone by the time he was on, and he got no service whatsoever

Henderson 7 - Did everything that was asked of him in crap conditions

O'Ceurill 7 - Looked comfortable not bad seeing as how he only came in a few days ago.
Butters 6 - Looked after Cole very well
Lynch 6 - More like the Lynch we used to see very comfortable on the ball
Mayo 6 - Felt quite sorry for him in the second half but seemed to have a reasonable game.

Fraser 6 - Bit lacking going forward but was quite strong
El-Abd 7.5 - Beast of game was going for everything just missed out on MOM
Hammond 8 - Ran the midfield, best game i've seen from him in ages
Frutsos 7 - really good in the first half faded in the 2nd which was a shame

Robinson 6 - dissapointing struggled to get in the game which seeing as how they had Dailly was a big shame
Revell 6.5 - good in the air but didn't do much on the floor

Hart 7 - superb cross seemed to be in a hurry and wanted to get things in the box
Rents 6 - solid enough was brought on to help Mayo
Gatting - not enough time

The fans - 7.5 - could have been better but sang throughout

Agree with the marks and the comments

The positive thing to come out of yesterday's game is that I don't think too many clubs are going to be queing up to buy any of our 'talented' youngsters during the January transfer window.

Henderson - 6 - Don't think he did anything particularly wrong but didn't pull off anything inspiring either.

O'Ceurill - 6 - Looked quick and tackled OK but distribution was poor at times. It was a big game to get your first taste of professional football within a team you have only trained with for a day or two.

Lynch - 7 - The pick of the defenders.

Butters - 6 - I think he did OK. We know he's slow but he gives his all.

Mayo - 5 - I think some of the criticism of Mayo is unfair. Yes he was given a torrid second half by Tevez. But we are talking about a world class player who will give much better players than Kerry Mayo the runaround. Mayo stuck to his task and would Sam Rents have done any better?

Fraser - 5 - Had no impact on the game.

El Abd - 7 - You cannot fault his committment. Quality wise he was out of his depth, but ran and tackled his socks off.

Hammond - 8 - Our best player. Tried to lead by example. Probably our only player who looked at home at this level.

Frutos - 5 - Had a couple of chances early on to make an impact but bottled it. From about fifteen minutes in I didn't know he was on the pitch.

Robinson - 4 - My biggest disappointment of the afternoon. I really wanted him to play the game of his life. He looked scared stiff, not sure he actually did anything right all game. I thought he had finally made the grade this season but I think some time warming the bench may be back on the cards.

Revell - 5 - Only marginally better than Robinson. If only he had put Gary Hart's cross in the net. We were in the West Ham end and the shot that went out for a throw was something else.

Hart - 6 - Harty's always up for. Injected a bit of urgency into things. Best cross of the game from an Albion player.

Rents - 5 - Bringing on a left back when you are 2-0 down is never going to win you a game.

Gatting - N/A

I thought Hammond, El-Abd and Lynch were excellent. I don't recall Lynch losing the ball or being beaten.

I understand that some individuals have their deep rooted prejudices against Mayo and Hendo, and as such are incapable of viewing their performances objectively.

What I don't get are the negative comments from some about O'Gooner. The lad was play his FIRST game in pro football, and did fine against an attack comprising Cole and 3 internationals. What were you hoping for? Did you think they were lending us Emmanuel Ebuoe?

What he said except I'd give Hendo a 10. Not just for the performance but for actually playing for the team again. After the abuse at Bournemouth he could have been excused for not wanting to play for us ever again. Had no chance for the 1st & 3rd goals, have to see the 2nd again if I'm to give an honest opinion - initial thoughts are maybe he could have come for it.

Well done Wayne, cheers for putting up with all the shit that you have.

On the whole I agree with the comments and scores by those who identify Butters, Lynch, El Abd and Hammond as the stars. I thought Tank marshalled his young colleagues superbly and for long periods of the game West Ham's star studded attacking force looked incapable of finding any way through other than down the left flank. El Abd has an incredible engine on him and was all over the park and Hammond exuded composure.

Kerry had a good game but his lack of pace was cruelly exploited by Tevez which unfortunately undermined the whole effort.

For me, Hendo came back from the Bournemouth debacle magnificently and made 2 or 3 superb catches form crosses in the first half.

Finally, the carping criticsm of Gatting and other young players is beyond the pale. Presumably its somebody's idea of a joke - I just don't find it very funny.

I finally watched the Soccer AM video this morning and they showed a clip of players struggling with the dreadful weather conditions over the holidays. Hendo was just one of them and by no means the worst of the bunch shown.
