Shaaban 8 (some good saves, excellent kicking)

Harding 7 (good throughout, tired towards the end)
Butters 8 (marked strikers out of the game)
Hinshelwood 8 (ditto Butters, some great blocks)
Reid 8 (great tackling, attacked sporadically but well)

Hart 7 (worked hard, tackled well but struggled to get on the ball)
Carpenter 8 (superb anchoring the midfield)
Nicolas 8 (exceptional marking, immense work rate)
Knight 9 (awesome working, did well in a strange position, sublime on the ball, won the corner for the second goal)

McCammon 9 (adversity suits him, it seems - worked tirelessly, caused problems, good goal)
Virgo 4 (unlucky to get sent off, but didn't help himself with an idiotic first booking)

Subs: Hammond 6

McGhee 8 (gambled with the line-up, but came out of it well)

I'm just very, very sad. Posting on NSC the second I get in the door ... not healthy :nono:

Shaaban 8 Two fantastic saves - what a signing! He's being interviewed now on SCR - great voice/accent, will replace FDM there too!

Harding 9 the rehabilitation of our champion left-back is complete, brilliant display
Butters 8 Wow, Danny who?
Hinshelwood 7 No mistakes.
Reid 8 Fine defending, wonderful with the ball at his feet

Hart 6 Battled his arse off
Carpenter 7 Great physical presence
Nicolas 8 His best game in a Brighton shirt
Knight 8 Great display, let's hope this finally ends the discussion about whether he can be effective played as a left-winger.

McCammon 9 Slow start, but played a great part in both goals and was utterly heroic in a lone role, my MOTM just from Harding
Virgo 6 Silly first card, but great guts not to change his physical style, thought he was very unlucky with the second card, looked like he'd won the ball.

Subs: Hammond 6

McGhee 10 Amazing selection and formation, totally worked out how Sunderland played.

Obviously very encouraged by the whole team but especially pleased to see McCammon rated highly and Nicolas back to form.

You have to say that McGhee is the complete opposite of Sven. Never afraid to mess about with the team if things aren't going right, and doesn't bow to supporter pressure over team selection.

The man is a genius and I am so thankful that his nationality prevents him from being offered the England job (even though he'd do a tremendous job)

Shaaban 8 did well. maybe a little shakey at first with kicking, but it soon got better and he went on to make a couple of great saves.

Harding 8 solid, got stuck in
Butters 8 His normal self. Superb
Hinshelwood 7 Strong
Reid 8 Great reading of the play, and good use of the ball as well

Hart 7 Didn't offer much offensively today but his tackling was fantastic.
Carpenter 6 Tackled well, a few too many wayward passes for once tho in my opinion.
Nicolas 8 Good chasing, good tackling, good passing.
Knight 8 Ran his socks off on the wing, although i don't remember him doing any crossing - took the ball inside instead which is fair enough.

McCammon 9 Clumsy at first, improved, great header and terrific workrate.
Virgo 6 Bit unlucky, maybe the first was a booking but second wasn't

Subs: Hammond 6 - did what was asked
:clap2:

Wherever The Mood Takes Me
Shaaban 8 - Couple of good saves, lack of communication at times but only to be expected on a debut. Keepers that punch always worry me though.

Harding - 8 Done everything well, worked very hard
Butters - 8 Taken over Cullips role brilliantly, wish I'd bought him for £5 off E-Bay now
Hinchelwood 7 - Not spectacular but done everything asked of him
Reid - 7 Good display but slightly let down by one pass which gifted them a goalscoring opportunity

Hart - 7 TBH didnt really notice him but gets a 7 coz I'd of noticed if he had a bad game.
Carpenter - 8 Good game & scored. Enough said.
Nicolas - 8 If he had played like this for the last 2 games we wouldnt have missed Charlie at all. Playing for his place today.
Knight - 9 Excellent performance from the little man. His patnership with McCammon will be a good one.

McCammon - 9 MOM. Brilliant, ran & ran & ran & scored. Dead on his feet second half but who wouldnt have been.
Virgo - 6 Cant really give Virgs a proper rating as he wasnt on the pitch long enough. Very harsh sending off though.

McGhee - 10 Genius. Tactically astute, put McCarthy to shame today.
