Can't see one yet, so ...

Kuipers 8 (some great saves, but let himself down with the goal)

Harding 7 (solid enough, got forward well)
Butters 7 (steadied the defence, added strength in the air)
Hinshelwood 7 (consistent and strong again at the back)
Reid 7 (used the ball well, did soundly defensively)

Currie 6.5 (good touches on the ball, but below his usual standards)
Oatway 7 (some great tackles, some poor passes - standard Charlie)
Hammond 7 (passed well, competed strongly)
Nicolas 5 (looked out of it on the right, came off injured early on)

Knight 9 (back to his best; great goal, great effort)
Virgo 6 (worked hard but struggled to get involved, didn't play Knight in when he could have done)

Subs: Carpenter 7, Jarrett 6

Agreed with first ratings except Reid did not look like a defender and was often caught out of position.

We need a winger.

Excuse me what about Junior Beach Hut's ratings - remember him, the one who exposed your poor pool technique in Crewe :lolol:

Did look out for him, and I had my glasses on, but I did not see him.

To be honest with you I thought the ball boys were shit. I know they are only young but they are there to do a job and when the ball goes off they should be ready with another one straight away. When we needed a goal at the end they were too busy playing with their pokemon card behind the goal to realise the ball had gone off and were too slow in giving Kuipers the ball.

Rant over.

Kuipers 7 would have been 9/MOTM but for the poor goal
Harding 6 Two fantastic goalline clearances
Butters 6 Good to have him back, reassuring against a big Cardiff line-up
Hinshelwood 6 Did little wrong
Reid 7 Linked excellently
Currie 5.5 Due an average game
Oatway 7 Fine box-to-box play, was everywhere
Hammond 5.5 bad start but improved
Nicolas 6 Not enough time to see him adapt out on the right flank
Knight 8 Great stuff, MOTM
Virgo 8 The hardest worker in the team and the reason why we are competitive in this league

Carpenter 6 Not back to his best but still should be first-choice.
Jarrett 6 Good control and held the ball well a times

McGhee 8 the best "thinking" manager in the league

Kuipers - 8 Comanding and made great saves but loses a mark for bad positioning for their goal

Harding - 7.5 2 goal line clarences, good distribution, pushed forward well and chased back when looked like he was beaten.
Butters - 7 Solid as we expect, needs a couple more games to get back to best
Hinshelwood - 6 Solid performance, couple of worrying moments
Reid - 7 worked hard but was cought out a couple of times and also gave the ball away in dangerous positions

Currie - 6.5 nice touches but never tried to beat his man
Oatway - 7 battled hard all game and broke down a lot of potential attacks
Hammond - 6 Never seemed to really get into the game
Nicolas - 6 didn't get started and injured early

Knight - 9 Didin't stop working, tracked back well, won a lot of headers and took his goal well
Virgo - 6.5 worked hard as always but first touch let him down too often

Carpenter - 6.5 got into the game ok but looked short of match fitness and delivery wasn't up to usual standard
Jarrett - 6 struggled to get into the game and looked lightweight

A lot of season ticket holders cannot get to Withdean on a weekday night so the tickets are sold but the person hasn't gone through the turnstile. That is the disparity in the figures.

It was too quiet last night. The regular singers descended into silly songs instead of getting behind the team (sorry Dover but you know what I mean)
