Haven't seen this posted yet - search just shows the thread from the Milk Cup game last month. Maybe we were all too pissed off in the aftermath?

Not sure I can be arsed to do the whole team, but Saturday was the first time I've seen Georginio in the flesh, other than his cameo against Man U. Bloody hell, he was good - a definite 9. There's stuff you see live that you just don't appreciate when watching on the telly, and certainly not from watching highlights. I thought his work rate was incredible and having him as an adanced pivot using his strength and skill to hold up before laying balls off to team mates works brilliantly. My personal MotM.

Welbeck. Rutter, Baleba - 8
Van Hecke, Igor, Kadioglu, Ayari 7.5
Verbruggen, 7
Estupinan, 6
Mitoma, Veltman 5.5

Subs
Lets not do this.
I’d go with that except I’d place Mitoma slightly above Veltman, so I’d dock Veltman a mark because of his tedious attempts at the dark arts.

So difficult to mark that one. On 55 minutes everyone was heading towards 7's to 9's imho.

But I would say:
Welbeck 9 - his all round game as well as the goal.
Ferguson 8 - he's back, such a classy finish.
The rest of them are dead to you? 😂

For the first hour anyway, I thought Igor and Baleba were the standout performers, bloody superb. Then Baleba got tired and clumsy.
Yes they were very good. Baleba's drop in performance seemed to happen once he'd been passed a note from the touchline after about 60 mins - I wonder what it said. I'll give it a go for everyone anyway:

Bart 6 - first was through a crowd of bodies; 2nd was deflected and I think he'd have got behind it otherwise.
Veltman 5 - He got beaten a few times down the right and we could well have been 0-1 down after 20 mins with their only chance of the first half because of it.
Igor 7 - Great skills in defence and his extra pace got us out of a couple of potential problems. We didn't look so assured on set pieces without Dunk, but then a last-minute change to you centre-half pairing will always bugger things up a bit.
JPVH 6 - Not quite as defensively dominant as we're used to, but first game back so not surprising.
Pervis 7 - Would've been an 8 for all-round play, but felt his charging forward in the 93rd minute was one of a catalogue of errors that led to their equaliser.
Baleba 7.5 - 9 for the first hour, 6 for next 20.
Ayari 6 - Held his own. Nothing spectacular.
Kadioglu 6 - I was less impressed than everyone else, and playing on the opposite wing from Mitoma usually means more space.
Mitoma 6 - Was mostly marked tightly out of the game and never got going.
Rutter 9 - I wonder if he was subbed off because he was on a yellow?
Welbeck 8 - Nice goal.

Ferguson 7 - Lovely goal against run of play with trademark strength and powefully placed shot
Lamptey 7 - An overdue sub with Veltman having a hard time against pace on the right. Nice assist for Fergie
Gruda 6 - Didn't make a massive difference but won the ball very nicely in the 93rd minute to set up the 4 on 1.
Enciso 6 - Not on long enough to have an effect. Was one of the 3 open players.
Wieffer - I won't score him, but hope he's back in the saddle on Wednesday.

Agree, he was everywhere tidying up and looking to break forward. Might of been MOTM given he played for all the game. Still can't understand why he didn't get much game time for Blackburn or Coventry.
Same. Such quick feet and pretty aggressive in the tackle for little ‘un. He made loads of great attacking runs in the first half and was ignored sadly

Looks like someone who‘d rip up a lower division up but didn’t

Think your being kind to Ferdi , some decent crosses but nowhere near (IMO) the effort or impact of Baleba or Ayari, equally not one of Mitoma's better games.

Thought he was great and gave us much needed balance, plus protected Veltman, though arguably didn’t do it enough in the second half.

I actually thought Baleba wasn’t great in the second half.
