Well, that was enjoyable; we were extremely good today, no-one had a bad game, and there were some staggeringly good performances.

Ryan 8 -- I need to have another look back at his two notable first half saves; the dive to the right in the second was brilliant. What a signing. He's 25, and must be worth £20m+ now, especially if we stay in the PL.
Schelotto 7 -- gotta love him
Duffy 8.5 -- I've been moaning about him over the past few months, but he's got his form back in the last few games, and was great today. Got caught out for that scramble at the end of the first half, but can't think of any other faults in a very open game
Dunk 8 -- due an England call-up
Bong 7 -- so, so solid
Knockaert 7.5 -- delighted for him, let's hope this propels a rich vein of form
Stephens 8 -- some great interceptions today
Propper 7 -- a bit hot and cold today. Sort your shooting out for us please Davy. Apart from that, he's some player
Izquierdo 9 -- wow, a month or so, I didn't quite get him despite his velocity, hammer shot and low centre of gravity. Now I really get him. Another Brighton player in the World Cup this summer?
Gross 8 -- such a clever player, some of his link-play with Speedy Gonzalez was something else
Murray 9 MotM -- ten goal Glenn  Brilliant hold-up play too

March 7
Locadia 7 -- a goal every 10 minutes in the PL, it could -- perhaps should -- have been 1 in 5
Kayal n/a

CH 9 -- so pleased for him. Warren apparently said that CC had put all his chicken on the barbeque, whereas I got CH's reserved substitutions today, and they were all perfectly timed. The starting 11 seemed obvious to me, and he's stuck to his plan doggedly.
Fans: North 8 or 9, the rest poor -- we've got to do our bit when we're not winning, and are under the kosh.

Ryan 8 - that save he made from there number 4 kept us on track as did his alertness to the Duffy deflection. If they had gone in the game takes on a different complexion.
Schelotto 7 - did not have same impact as previous games but really settling in and loove his work rate and surging runs
Duffy 7.5 some very good work but i wish he would control the ball a bit more rather than just head it away to the opposition
Dunk 8 Very unlucky with OG but if you block as many shots as he does then it will always happen. Would not have it any way . Still our best defender,
Knockaert 7.5 so pleased for him BUT still needs to understand when to release the ball. Works hard in defence
Stephens 7- thought he had a good game
Propper 7 - some big mistakes but wins every header . needs to practise his shooting. Really is a hot/cold player brilliance followed by nonsense pass.
Izquierdo 9 MOTM really did well and is the game changer we were looking for.
Groß 7.5 some brilliant play mixed up with some negative play. At his best he is brilliant but if he was consistent with it he would be a top six player.
Murray 8 FFS a class act and unlucky not to get a hatrick.

March 6
Locadia 7
Kayal 7

CH 8 - for picking a team that was so far above Swansea. 5-0 would have been a better reflection of the game.

Like that. We've got Jesus and Speedy Gonzalez from South America. Might be worth a song.

I think I'd over hyped the West Ham performance.
For a 4-1 seriously important victory, I thought the team was a bit flat, too defensive and not attacking enough.

Carlos lost the game instead of the Albion winning it.

not a big fan but today thought he was close to MOTM. developing a good understanding with Izquierdo.

Disagree. Not a fan and whilst there were a few things he did well, for example, turned the opponent to create space, got a cheer for that and then promptly gave the ball away. Would be interested to see how few times he passed to Izquierdo which is an ongoing theme.

Overall pleased with the team performance but we could have and should have had more! Some poor decision making, for example in the first half Knockhaert broke away with Izquierdo in space on the left but instead of the early pass, AK carried the ball forward but in the direction of Izquierdo so by the time he passed to him he had been closed down. Gross did the same in the second half.

You must have been watching a different game. Albion were full of energy all over the field and attacking heavily throughout (Something which has been missing for a while)

4-1 and we were too defensive? Not sure if you are trolling or not. :wrong:

Not trolling and I know full well it's an odd stance to take.
As said I've convinced myself v WH not only the wingers but the full backs as well seemed to be constantly raiding forward.

In the second half Schletto barely set foot in their half, while most of Jose's possession started very deep.

I just felt the team were a lot more conservative than I expected, and certainly more withdrawn than they needed to be.
As said all a little odd having won 4-1, but I didn't see than scoreline after the first 70 minutes.

Bong was immense in defence today. Just wish he had Suttners quality with the ball. But let’s not underestimate his contribution and as mentioned- rarely gets beaten. Strong and fast.

Propper- great passing. Becoming more influential.

Ryan- important cat like saves.

Loving the telepathy between the german and the Colombian too.

Ryan - 8 - nothing he could about the goal, otherwise excellent.

Bong - 8 - fantastic in defence, don’t think he was beaten once. Couple of wayward passes as usual but love him

Duffy - 8 - getting back to his best. Lost nothing in the air

Dunk - 8.5 - magnificent performance. **** the own goal record, he puts his body on the line time after time so it’s going to happen

Schelotto - 7 - did alright, love him going forward

Stephens and Propper - both 8 - second half in particular we completely dominated the midfield, both won the ball several times

Izquierdo - 9 - starting to look seriously good. Set up 2 of the goals with intelligent cutbacks, super-quick and scaring PL defenders. They’re shitting themselves when he cuts inside, so love how today he went outside more than once and cut the ball back instead. Clever stuff, and probably clever coaching

Knockaert - 8.5 - much, much better game today, so pleased for him to get a goal. Celebration said it all. Took better options, won the ball many times in midfield too

Gross - 7 - not his best game but solid enough

Murray - 9 - what can you say ? Won everything in the air, scored twice, ran his nuts off. Remarkable.

Subs
March -7 - did ok
Locadia - 7 - barely more then one touch, but scored. Have a feeling he will be critical over the next few weeks
Kayal - 7 - alright

CH - 9. Starting lineup was pretty obvious, subs kept things as they were, Locadia got a goal. We’re definitely pushing further up the pitch at home now with less of a gap between the CMs and Gross.

Crowd - improved when we got the second. WS starting to get more involved.

I think it was more a positional understanding rather than neat passing between the two. Don't get me wrong overall I would prefer Suttner as he is a better footballer and crosser of the ball but really thought Bong did a lot of good things today.

Agree with your comments about Gross & AK but both did have good games they just could have been better... Have to say same with Proper & Stevens , some great work followed immediately by unbelievably poor play...

We won against a team in form let's celebrate it.
