Brez didn't have a lot to do, he fumbled a couple of easy collections, though one bounced awkwardly just in front of him. His kicking was mostly fine. There were a couple of early errant kicks or strong kicks that made it awkward to collect, and one late on but generally he tended to find his own players. Doesn't look that confident with the ball at his feet, but didn't panic, and like I've said before, it's unfair to judge him in a system he plays once every few weeks.

Defensively we seemed mostly comfortable. Kish seemed to head it into the middle a lot when he replaced Tanno, and drifted inside a bit. We did let them in a bit late on the game, perhaps we were a little too confident, or perhaps pompy just threw caution to the wind that late on. Elphick needs to be prised because he has received criticism coming in for the previous games. Painter deserves a mention for his energy (Bennett is the only one who comes close to him for match time), and his attacking play, Tanno has been a bit of a pleasant surprise in these last three games showing his experience more than his age, and of course El Abd is on cause for player of the season. He not only put in his now standard stellar display, he also proved to be a fantastic irritant.

Midfield were positive and fluid. Barnes dropping back when needed, and switching comfortably with barnes and with Wood and Murray. Sparrow seems to have such a positive impact on the team without necessarily standing out in games. Bennett, again showing tremendous energy levels, and desire and always being available and willing to make the run. Bridcutt slotted in nicely. Kish was comfortable and calm in the middle proving to be a good influence for the intelligence of our play.

I think we should do away with the regular "who should partner XX up front" and just agree to go with Wood, Barnes and Murray, because they were a great unit, positive, fluid, and showing a great understanding of each other.

Sandaza did what sandaza does. I laughed when he scored, even though it was only his second last minute goal it seems like it's his trademark, and holroyd made a good block late on (not that he knew much about it, I think)

All the players need to be praised for keeping their cool in such excitable conditions, particular praise for gus for taking El Abd aside, giving him a hug, and keeping him calm.

From the West stand, it would be unfair to rate the players as it was hard to see particularly in the second half. But the players that stood out for me were Sparrow, Barnes and Tarrico.

Brezovan 5 Not a lot to do but distribution poor
Tarrico 7 Showed his experioence and whata good full back he was when younger,
Elphick 7 Solid did his job
El Abd 7.5 Did what he does best and did it well just pipped for MOM for me.
Painter 7.5 Good professional performance again just pipped for MOM for me.
Bennett 7 Competant performance looked to be trying to impress to get one up on Noone for next week.
Kishishev 7 Showed his class and composure throught and was always available when switched to right back.
Sparrow 8 Good allround performance must have cobdered every blade of grass of that pitch MOM for me.
Barnes 7 Plenty of effort and good allround performance well taken penalty.
Murray 7 Good performance as in recent weeks good attacking and worked hard defending set pieces.
Wood 7 Solid all round performance which was highlighted when him and Murray went off and struggled to hold the ball up front.

Subs:

Sandazo 7 Did what he was brought on for scored a goal but why take his shirt off and get booked if he scored twice we would finish up a man short.
Bridcutt 7 Took the pressure off the back four when he came on as the ball was getting pumped up and straight back at us.
Holroyd 5 Not on long enough to judge but he didnt do a lot and seemed to want to keep away from the action.

Can I be the first to offer Hermann Hreidarsson a 1/10?

How bad was he, from the minute he set foot on the pitch? No wonder every team he ever plays for gets relegated.
