Fiveways
Steele 8 -- brilliant on the ball
Veltman 8 -- cunning
Van Hecke 8.5 -- another great performance
Dunk 8
Lamptey 8.5 -- two assists and, in one performance, might have persuaded a few doubters that we've got sufficient cover on each side of defence. His searing pace seems to be easing back too.
Gross 10 MotM -- I rarely do this, but this was a simply stunning performance. Even before the goal, he was instrumental in us seizing the initiative in the game after a slow start. His passing was phenomenal, ditto the intelligence to get himself in a position to open up the space for the pass. Covered a lot of ground, dropped deep after they scored to ensure that we snuffed out their revival. And then the goal: he played the ball out to Mitoma, and then put his burners on before that feint, and a decisive finish. The Kaiser.
Dahoud 6 -- keep things ticking
Adingra 7.5 -- impressive first start
Mitoma 7 -- caused them problems, but not utterly scintillating
Lallana 6 -- nice dummy for our first, got a few things wrong in the final third
Welbeck 8 -- excellent performance, fantastic running power and movement, brilliant work rate, and a decent finish

Subs:
Pedro 8 -- pocket Pedro got in the pockets, and finished well
Fati 7 -- probably should have kept up his scoring debut record, but showed enough to keep up the levels of excitement. One of the issues with him is whether he has got his early pace, on that showing, he has.
Milner 6 -- mentality
Gilmour 7 -- lovely play to put Fati through
Ferguson 6

Lamptey rated too highly there overall. First-half he got a few shouts and bollockings off our players for being out of position and not closing down. Second-half was much much better after words from RDZ at half-time

Thought Gross was excellent, what else do you expect from a German International. Lamptey great in a different position.

But, boring as I am, Veltman was my MOM, smiling assasin, really enjoyed his performance, every aspect!

Let's enjoy the ride while we still have RDZ. He will be with us for this season at least. Who is the most influential player to have EVER played in the stripes? Wardy? Lawrenson? Zamora? Nah. Hands down it's Pascal Gross. Love him
