That was a real smash and grab raid by the Albion. Very poor first half, battered by Derby for half of the second, and then we finally come good.

Stockdale 9. MOM. Did about everything right and kept us in the game. Fantastic performance.
Bruno 4. A liability for most of the game.
Greer 6. A better performance, but still gave the ball away too often.
Dunk 6. OK.
Bennett 6. Little chance to support the attack until late in the second half. Defending OK.
Kayal 7. Effective.
Holla 6. OK game.
Calderon 6. Not great.
Baldock 6. OK until his injury.
Tex 7. Our one creative spark in the first half.
O'Grady 8. Great centre forward play. Won everything in the air, great first touch, layed the ball off very well. Fantastic pass to Kazenga for the second goal.

Stockdale 8 - A couple of key saves to earn his clean sheet, mostly calming influence when we had the lead
Bruno 6 - Sold himself a couple of times early, spent the rest of the match standing off, but we kept a clean sheet so can't be too harsh to the defence
Greer 6 - Untidy at times, loose passes etc, but again, effective
Dunk 8 - As big a part in the clean sheet as Stockdale with some key blocks
Bennett 7 - Not as good as Dunk, not as untidy as Greer/Bruno
Calderon 7 - Looked tired
Holla 6.5 - Quietly decent

O'Grady 7 I thought he had a decent game, but didn't see enough to think man of the match, but I heard someone near me exclaim that the sponsors had got it right for once.
Baldock 6 Had a good opportunity, but hit it straight at the keeper

LuaLua 6.5 - Came on in the 40th minute, didn't contribute to the game until after the 70th. A well taken goal was welcome, but I expect more from him
Stephens 7.5 - Might be a coincidence, but him coming on seemed to stop the onslaught. Then he scored.
Ledesma - Yeah, that's what we paid our money for. Sit on the bench for 3 games, then be the time wasting sub in injury time. That is money well spent.

I assume you must sit in the north west corner with limited view of the penalty box at the south end. Dunk was totally awesome In those first 20 mins of the 2nd half. And didn't do much wrong for the rest of the game. Dunk at least an 8

LuaLua 9 - Took a bit of time to get up to pace, but then he made the game safe. Changed the complexion of the game.

Hughton 6 Iffy starting XI. Well coached defence.

O'Grady 8 gives the team presence up front good first touch brings others in great through ball for KLL goal

KLL 6 we know what he can do and he only does it when on the wing only when Stevens came on could he move onto the wing great goal

they are a good team
keeper kept us in it
we sat too deep at times
missed Ince
not enough midfield cover for our centre halves
who did well but our full backs struggled to cope
against good quality wide play.
Thought whilst COG was great - very calm on the ball
obviously he doesn't threaten behind
and tex great feet but doesn't run beyond striker
glad Lua Lua put in a decent performance we need some one who can
break defensive lines .
our right side remains weak
2 decent attacking right backs who struggle to defend
especially against pace they need cover in front of them
and we need more offensively from that side
thinking this is more of a priority than even the striking problem.

Dunk deserves an 8 at least, cleared one off the line 1st half and more heroics in the 2nd, played as big a part as Stockdale who was also excellent. All the defence were solid apart from Bruno who was a liability.

They were playing fast, penetrative attacking football out wide and thru the middle. We were extremely fortunate that neither Bent or Martin was on the pitch - because Derby's finishing was poor (like ours has been). Our keeper was fantastic and everyone threw their bodies on the line to keep them out.

I'd say it was more them being really good but we actually defended well for a change.

Dunk made one particularly outstanding tackle early in the first half. Thought Baldock did well too considering he's out of position.

Stockdale was incredible, hope he's shut some of his critics on here up now.

Agreed. Derby were very very good except for their finishing. They were hard but not dirty and at times it felt like they had about 15 men out there, they are so fast and well organised. Hope they go up - good club.
