Worthing
Kuszczak 7 - a couple of smart saves, very good on crosses and corners - which was great to see a lot better than Brez and Ankergren but his passing and distribution was very poor.

Bruno 9 - Looked solid , a couple of backheels i think this guy could become a big fan favourite.

Greer 7 - Not as solid as usual and a unusual snap at clearance nearly an embarassing own goal.

Dunk 6 - poor game gave the ball away too easily when under no pressure, but did make up for it with a couple of good blocks, but i prefer el abd in defence

Calderon 8 - played very well on the left wing and im pleased as i like the guy, i personally would play Calderon instead of Painter if bridge is unavailable

Buckley 9 - class when got on the ball, this guy is premiership quality just needs to stop getting injuried.

Bridcutt 9 - very good on the ball and won a lot of tackles, do we need this midfield enforcer - im not sure anymore.

Dicker 8 - good game by dicker, what you expect of the guy.

Crofts 7 - good goal and a good player when on the ball but as expected isnt quite fit yet and not adapted to the way we play yet but this will come with time and im very confident will be what we need

Vicente 10 - The guy is immense, seriousally he was by miles the best player on the pitch - how lucky we are to have him, at times a bit slow on ball and lost ball but was exceptional bar his corners which were dreadful

Barnes 9 - Lethal finish by our best forward, he also worked his socks off and should be one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Subs:
Noone 7 - looked good running at defence, hopefully plays like he did before the first liverpool game as at end of last year was very poor.
Harley 7 - This is what we expected when got Harley, i guess he has got his head down in training and impressed Poyet as looked a better player today.
Agdestein. Not on long enough.

Great game. Great result. Gives a very positive feeling for next season.

P.S. And a proper sport ... not all this Olympic rubbish ....

These but Vicente with a '9'. MoM - Ashley Barnes for me.

Thought Barnes was MOM but also Crofts made a real difference. Great to have him back.
Like others I chose to sit in another seat for this match being a WSL STH. Went to East Stand. First time I have looked at the massive West Stand. I chose to be much further back than my normal seat. Did not like. Much prefer being down with the players at pitch level.
Still a very enjoyable afternoon

For me Bridcutt was awesome.

The way he left Lampard on his arse on 66 mins was magic.

Torres and Hazard clearly not worth all that money.

I am having difficulty figuring out how you can give a perfect 10 to a player who, in your opinion, is "at times a bit slow on ball", "lost ball", and took "dreadful" corners???

I see what people mean about Kuszczak's distribution but I'd rather have a keeper that stops shots well and is dominant in the air with a dodgy kick than keepers that aren't brilliant shot stoppers, dodgy in the air but can kick well (brez and casp)

The beauty of today's game is that we didn't treat it as a cup final - We just played our game, just as we would any other team, and beat the Champions of Europe.

It's important to not get ahead of ourselves - consistency will be key - but if we play like we can do throughout the season we will piss the league.

I would agree with all of that.

Bridge has an odd injury which means 'he can't do some actions' (quote from gus) CMS was desperate to play but is not playing without any pain so was not risked, same with KLL.

Your dead right now i look back on it, i got caught up in his performance and realise it was a poor 9 out of 10, i think he was just man of the match but Barnes and Bridcutt pushed him very close. Calderon also showed can play left back very well

Kuszczak 7. Bit of a shaky start but grew into it, some good saves and, by the end, was bossing his area.

Bruno 8. Great start, looking forward to seeing him bombing forward this season, some of the little flicks he pulled off were both brilliant and ridiculous.

Greer 8. Solid, dependable, plugged any gap left behind by Calderon or Bruno when needed.

Dunk 7. Good game barring the two misplaced passes (and the subsequent nervy 5 minutes afterwards), otherwise, played the ball confidently and stopped a fair bit.

Calderon 7. Surprisingly good on the left, going to be a season-long fight between him and Bridge for that spot I suspect (sorry Painter...)

Buckley 9. We only paid 1m for a player that was, at times, terrorising one of the best left-backs in the world. Some great runs, just a shame he had to go off.

Bridcutt 9. Someone forgot to tell him it was a friendly, committed to every challenge completely, played some little passes that were just fantastic.

Dicker 7. I've never rated him but today he played a very understated role and did it well, credit where it's due.

Crofts 7. Solid performance, didn't stop moving and popped up all over the place. Won a little place in my heart for squaring up to Luiz (the dirty bastard).

Vicente 9. Don't even know why I'm surprised at some of the runs he made, classy player, caused problems all game.

Barnes 8. Carried on where he left off last year, didn't stop working, was up front, on the wing, in defence...all over the place, all game.

Subs:
Noone 7. Some good little runs, looked like the Noone of early last season.
Harley 7. Didn't put a foot wrong in the time he had on the pitch.
Agdestein. Would've liked to have seen more of him, no real chance to make an impact.

Anyone know the value of both teams yesterday? Bet that would be an interesting comparison - put into perspective with the match ratings haha

We were immense yesterday

Chelsea starting 11 cost £237.7m
Albion starting 11 cost around £2m

Unless you use the Andy Naylor/Brian Owen scales, anyone who gives Barnes less than a 9 needs to go to Specsavers. And this is coming from a reformed Ashley hater.
