Agree except Connolly who was no better than 5, two chances to pass to players in space and chose to shoot, off target. Also falls over much too easily, annoys me when he does that. Pleased to see him subbed.

Probably fair comment. Felt he buzzed about and found space, went close, but yes, I was annoyed when he kept going down easily and when he didn’t look up.

How can 6 be average if it is out of 10? Surely a 6 is above average?

Had this discussion last week.

Industry standard and also, widely used in professional teams (certainly youth teams in 80’s).

Players were rated out of 5 in each half, with 3 considered average.

Sanchez - 9 - Thought he was magnificent
White - 7.5 - Tough physical examination which he came through plus one goal saving challenge.
Dunk - 7.5 Difficult afternoon but made some crucial challenges and scored.
Webster - 7 More difficult test than Anfield but stood up to it well.
Veltman - 6 Found it hard going.
Bissouma - 7 Good 1st half but found things tough 2nd half, maybe a little leggy too,
Gross - 6 Found Burnley's extra man in midfield very tough until Potter's switch to a four.
Burn - 6 Looked tired and even more leggy than normal. Stuck to his task.
MacAllister - 7 At the heart of most of our good work. Got some rough treatment
Connolly - 6 Some good stuff but stay on your feet its starting to get embarrassing...
Maupay - 6 Not much service.

Trossard - 6 - Thought he did ok with scraps
Welbeck - 6 - Helped us regain an element of control of the game but didn't offer much threat.
Lallana - 7 Sparked our best period of the 2nd half.

 What about the time he almost put us 2-0 up but for a great save from Pope. He was also excellent carrying the ball forward and ran directly at the big Burnley defenders causing them several uncomfortable moments.

Fair enough, just my opinion

I'm probably the only one but I thought Sanchez was a bit less assured today.

Well he came and took some crosses under pressure. Did flap at one, but generally saved us on numerous occasions

Just about sums it up for me: strong defence, not so good the rest, better with subs.

Don't get me wrong, he was decent. I thought the whole team just looked knackered in the second half.

Think Burnley attacked Burn more in the second which gave them more opportunities, but agree we were struggling.
