Kuipers 7 Had nothing to do apart from the penalty and the save i didnt think he made.
Whing 6 Did his job
Elphick 5 Playing with the ball at his feet is not his strength.
Hawkins 7 Best defender by a long way won most high balls.
Livermore 6 Was ok and wasnt pushed for pace as they didnt have a pacy winger.
Cox 4 Generally poor with his crosses and taking on players, which he didnt do.
Virgo 6 Won a lot of balls in midfield and posed an aerial threat when he went up front.
Thomson 6 workman like performance nothing bad nothing brilliant just got on with the job.
Richards 6 Some good moments but did not look comfortable in midfield.
Forster 6 Not his best game but didnt get any decent service.
Hart 5 Chased around like madman and wasa nuisance but ahieved nothing constructive or look like scoring.
Subs:

Fraser 4 Was a let down and should have been substituted after about 5 mins.
Lynch 5 Was neither good nor bad did nothing of note either way.

Management 2 Could and should do better.

A poor game overall. Shows that we do not have the depth in the squad which we maybe thought we had.
And we need urgently:
a) a striker ... clearly we have no one if Forster or Murray is suspended or injured, and
b) a right winger ... Cox was awful.

Kuipers 8. One magnificant save. Good game overall.

Whing 7. Good game. Seems to be getting forward a bit more this season. One shot from open play and a header from a corner.

Elphick 7. Solid, but needs to work on his distribution.

Hawkins 7. Looked good.

Livermore 7. Best I've seen him play. Maybe better at LB than midfield?

Cox 3. Rubbish. Can't beat his man. Crossing and pass selection poor.

Thomson 7. One of his better games, but seems to fade for long periods.

Virgo 6. Not up to his Crewe performance.

Richards 5. Much better at LB. His lack of a right foot was exposed too often.

Forster 6. OK, but clearly missed the support of Murray.

Hart 5. Ran around a lot. One or two nice touches, but not striker quality in this league.

Subs:

Fraser 3. Very poor. We should send him out on loan. When Wilkins played him on the right we were told central midfield was his best position. Based on how he played there today, if that's his best position he just isn't good enough.

Lynch 5. OK. Not on long enough to make much impact.

Apart from Rovers hitting the bar and the post.

1) They hit the bar from a free kick just outside the area.

2) Kuipers pushed it onto the post with a superb one on one save.

3) Forster also had a one on one very early on that he should have finished.

Can't recall a single goal scoring chance beyond that.

Over 90 mins, the above constitutes "bugger all" in my book.

A number of supporters state that a 0-0 draw was a fair result, the commentary clearly reported that Bristol struck our bar and post, yet no mention of this apart from andybaha, too many people are very selective on their postings.

I can't vouch for the hitting of the post as some kind fellow decided to stand up right in front of me as it happened so I didn't see it. They hit our crossbar for sure though. I feel that 1-1 was probably a fair result and i'm sure that if we had Mcleod and Murray we probably would have won it.

With 6 = average.

Kuipers - 8 - didn't put a foot wrong and made one outstanding save.

Whing - 7 - thought he looked the best of our defenders today.

Elphick - 6 - just did his job, nothing special.

Hawkins - 6 - see above

Livermore - 6 - looked fairly solid at LB but wish he could of linked up with Richards more.

Richards - 5 - looked out of place in midfield. Gave us no width or invention. Prefer him at LB.

Cox - 5 - plenty of work rate ( esp, compared to Tuesday ) but no final product.

Thomson - 6 - average

Virgo - 5 - pretty anonymous today and no better when moved upfront.

Hart - 5- a couple of half decent flick ons early doors, then nothing but clumsy hustling.

Forster - 6- worked hard enough but zero service.

subs:

Fraser - 4 - contributed nothing when he came on.
Lynch - 6 - done ok in the little time he had at LB.

Yep, I'd go with that

Not a question of being selective in posting at all. The woodwork incidents need to be put in context.

Trust me, if you'd been at the game, you'd probably conclude 0-0 was a fair result as well. Commentaries can be very deceiving at times.

Michel 7 Great save
Whing 7 Solid
Elphick 6 Good in the air, got nothing from the ref
Hawkins 6 Read the game well
Livermore 5 Average
Cox 5 Poor crosses yesterday
Thomson 6 Worked hard, lacked creativity
Virgo 7 Ran his nuts off but looked a bit lost
Richards 3 Not a winger, was too narrow all match
Forster 7 Tried hard but had little support
Hart 5 Did the job asked of him but the wrong option

Ref 2 looked overweight, didn't let the game flow & fell for the Bristol tactics.

Listening to the commentary I'd give the crowd 3, dreadful performance need to show more passion and commitment and they can't blame DW this time.

Thought the central 6 were ok yesterday and it was on the flanks where we were poor. Nothing created down the left and Cox had an off day. Thomson was good in central midfield, I like the way he quietly gets on with the job he's been given. Kuipers made one fantastic save, but still can't distribute the ball.
Livermore a real dissapointment, doesn't look like a left back. Hart was ok , did the job he was given to do but didn't look like scoring - harsh booking imo.

Kuipers - 7 - superb save turning the ball onto the post. Not much more to do.
Whing - 7 - really impressed with his work. Tidy game.
Elphick - 6 - solid - ref seemed to take a dislike to him. Everyone was all over everyone, so not sure why Elphick was singled out.
Hawkins - 6 - neat and tidy. Shame about the pen - couldn't see what happened from G block
Livermore - 5 - left exposed too often. Not the man for left back.
Richards - 6 - in the wrong position. Waste of a skilful player and meant the front men didn't get the ball.
Cox - 3 - "lots of effort"? Was there bugger - was CONSTANTLY out of position, didn't get past anyone and not one cross got over the first man. Shocking dross.
Thomson - 5 - got stuck in, not creative, has a job to do deep in midfield with the right combo around him
Virgo - 5 - good first half, didn't get any service up front.
Hart - 4 - Good brian, no legs. Liability I am afraid.
Forster - 6 - What could he do? Chasing lost causes all day. Shame he didn't finish off his once chance - good spread by the keeper.

Fraser - 4 - sorry, what did this sub add to the game? Their subs made a difference, ours made us weaker (and that's allowing for Cox being taken off)
Lynch - wasn't on long. Still can't see it. Where does he fit in?

MA - bench looked bereft. We needed to get wide - oddly, a game where Robinson would have thrived I suspect.

McLeod and Murray - badly missed.
