Brezovan-8- Distribution a bit suspect at times but never looked troubled
El-Abd-8-Not troubled
Vincelot-8 As Above
Dunk-9- Class performance from a class player, hope we don't sell
Calderon-8 Got beaten too easily a couple of times, great cross/shot! Looked more match fit than vs Wrexham
Sparrow-9- Looking like a new revitalized player, another great shot superbly saved by James
Bridcutt-9.5- Breaks up play so well, ran the show
Buckley- 9.5- Looks like the real deal, terrorized their left back and superb, calmly taken goal
JFC-8 Shame he got injured
CMS-n/a
Barnes-6- Loads of wasted shots and poor link up play, need a new striker

Navarro-8-Slotted in well
Hoskins-8- Won the ball 10x better than Barnes and got into some good positions

I think some of you're marks are very harsh. I thought we thoroughly dominated the game. One of the best performances of the season...

Spot on I would say other than I would have given Hoskins 7.5 because of his movement all game and set up for Buckley's goal. I thought that Bristol were poor and we played with ten men. Barnes really not up to this standard.

this....... though Barnes is young, he is massively out of form. I'd give him time

Hoskins made so many runs that we're not spotted by the midfield, guess the link up will develop as he plays more. Bloody good to see him out there today!

I am glad to see most of you have Sparrow as MOM.SUPERB today.Also how can Gus drop El-abd or Dunk after that?.
Buckley is starting to look a superb player now.
Hoskins looked good and that flick on for the 2nd was class.

That's more like it Brighton! A more direct style of play in the 2nd half played dividends. But, the opposition were pretty hopeless and Wood did very little.

Brezovan 8. Did what he had to do flawlessly. If he continues in this form we do not need another keeper.
Calderon 6. Reasonable game, but a few misplaced passes. What a goal!
Dunk 7. Good game.
El Abd 9. Superb. Don't think he could be faulted. Joint MOM
Vincelot 6. Was given a bit of a run around a few by their right winger. Made me a bit nervous at times.
Barnes 4. Not really at the races. A chance to impress not taken.
Bridcutt 9. Excellent. Joint MOM
Sparrow 8. Very good game. Back to his best.
JFC 7. Knocked off the ball a bit too easily, but showed touches of class.
Buckley 8. Getting better with every game. Well taken goal.
CMS 7. Not much to show for his 25 mins.

Subs:
Hoskins 7. Looked good considering he lacks match practice. Could be a good partnership with CMS if we can't find the target man we need.
Navarro 7. Did OK. His shot over the bar must rank with the worst seen at the Amex!

Brez 7 - Didnt have to do much, but when he did he done well.

Calderon 8 - Fantastic goal, played well in defence.
El Abd 7 - Solid in defence made some key tackles.
Dunk 7 - If he keeps playing well he will be going soon :/
Vincelot 7 - He should be our Left back he plays well everytime.

Bridcutt 9 - MOTM for a reason, hes just class.
Sparrow 7 - had a good game passed well.
JFC 6 - wasnt his best game but hes young and still learning.

Buckley 8 - So glad hes back, He just goes around defenders for fun.
Barnes 3 - SHIT SHIT SHIT.
CMS 5 - didnt do much with his time on the field.

Subs:

Navarro 5 - made a few blunders and needs to learn to shoot.
Hoskins 7 - done well hope he starts ahead of barnes.

...... but you couldn't rate CMS and gave JFC a near mom 8 rating despite the fact he was only on for, what?, 3 more minutes. I think one of the problems with ratings on here is that they are too often coloured by who (the player is) rather than how (well they played). Not having a go but you can't really bite back at others when your own assessment is to say the least somewhat questionable. As it is I can pretty well guarantee that tomorrow's papers will be much tougher across the board simply because they are dispassionate.

Add to that of course that City were, by all accounts, the worst side we have played this season. I'm delighted with the win and especially pleased that Sparrow is starting to show what he can do after geting the same sort of flack earlier this season that Barnes is getting now. Just goes to show that Gus clearly knows more than we do about picking a player.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who thought El Abd had a great game and deserved at least to share MoM, He had they're strikers in his pocket from the start.
