Duffy 8. Looks like a very good acquisition.
Bong 7. Best performance since back from injury. Almost back to last season’s form. Shame he’s suspended for Tuesday’s game. Silly and unnecessary booking. And what a pass to start the move for the first goal.
Kayal 8. Excellent. Great pass for the first goal. Hope injury not too bad.
Stephens 8. Back to his best. Very good performance.
Knockaert 9. Some exquisite stuff from him including beating three men to set up first goal and another dribble which earned him a standing ovation. But was guilty on a few occasions of holding on to the ball too long. MoM
Skalak 8. Best I’ve seen from him. Looked really up for it. Wonderful free kick for second goal.
Hemed 7. Good, but a little slow at times.
Murray 8. Very well taken goals. Could have had another couple. A little greedy at times when looking for his hat-trick.

Excellent opening post, pretty much nails it for me, comments included. I'd give Stockdale a 7 though - maintained concentration on a quiet afternoon, distribution was great so a 6 feels a bit miserly. Duffy has made us so much stronger at defending set pieces - he's brilliant in the air.

Stockdale -7- did his job, a couple of saves of note
Bruno -7- what people underestimate is that he's always an outlet for our CMs when they get closed down. Without him I think we'd struggle with just 4 in midfield
Dunk -7- dealt with what was thrown him at well . Got a booking early on and worried if he'd stay on for the rest of the game but was a professional performance
Duffy -8- best performance so far. Dealt excellently with Barnsely's set pieces . One in particular he made a vital header
Bong -8- Yes 8!!!! Looked a different player today . More confident a couple of good overlaps and he meant that ball to Knocky for our first goal !
Knockaert -9- brilliant performance again . Goosebumps when he got the standing ovation in the first half
Stephens -7- better performance from him but did seem to slow us down a few times on the attack
Kayal -7- played well and was back to himself getting stuck in even if the referee wasn't allowing his perfectly good tackles. Hope injury isn't too serious
Skalak -6- great set pieces but his decision making was poor sometimes, choosing the wrong ball or holding on to it for too long
Hemed -7- Looked frustrated today when the ball just evaded him at vital moments but worked hard closing them down and nearly got lucky when closing down their keeper
Murray -8- took his 2 goals well and was getting into the positions . Could have easily had a hat trick


Norwood -7- worried what we would be like without Kayal but put in a shift
Sidwell -6- good cameo role , and one challenge in particular on the edge of the box was brilliant

It's a game of opinions, but, to my mind, Knocky wouldn't be half as good without his partnership with Bruno. Watch the game again, Bruno was imperious today, probably his best performance so far this season

I love Bruno though. My player of the season last season.

In thought Baldock marred his performance by claiming a foul when he lost the ball and never got up to pace.

Also. I thought we are now particularly strong in central defence with Dunk improving his game by a lot with Duffy dealing with the high balls and physical stuff.

I thought Norwood looked much better yesterday, he was clearly more advanced than he's previously been and was much closer to Stephens and consequently involved in the game much more instead of leaving a massive hole in midfield.

He's still no Kayal, but it gives me hope that he can learn the system and come good.

Stockdale 7 - key save when it mattered. Little else to do.
Bruno 7 - decent performance without excelling.
Duffy 7- decent in the air, average with the ball at his feet. Doesn't quite look like he and Dunk have gelled yet.
Dunk 8 - the pick of the defenders and offered more with his feet.
Bong 8 - better than I've seen from him this season. A lovely pass out to Knocky for the first goal and set up another Murray chance that was squandered.
Knocky 8 - excellent first half, subdued second. Phenomenal for the first goal.
Stephens 8 - an excellent performance. Helped by the fact that they went man for man in midfield which was, at best, idiotic.
Kayal 7 - seemed riled about something. Took the game to them but off at half time.
Skalak 6 - a poor performance aside from the assist. Slows down the play far, far too much.
Murray 9 - should've scored at least one more, but got the match winning goals and his movement and touch was back on song.
Hemed 5 - unfortunately he's a poor man's Murray. He wants to take up the same positions, make the same runs, play the same role, but Murray is simply more effective in every way and it's highlighted when they play next to one another.

Norwood 6 - decent when he came one but the deeper role he plays tends to lead to teams coming on to us
Baldock 6 - did okay. Nothing exciting though.
Sidwell 6 - on to run the clock down. Did okay.

Wasn't going to post because my marks similar to most others but what medication is BensGrandad on? 7.5 for Knocky? Did he watch the game?

It was a sublime performance by probably the most skillful, talented player in the division. He was outstanding. Positively Vincentesque...if not better.

I know player ratings are all about opinions but 7.5 for that performance? Complete and utter bollox

I thought Duffy was going to be a truly crap signing, and for a while it looked like I was right. However, he seems to be improving with every game so I'm delighted to admit that I'm completely wrong on this one at the moment.
