Lopez is nothing like the player last season, doesnt seem interested. Maybe Gus will come in for him in January & we can get in someone who actually looks like they are interested.

Kuszczak 5 - should have done better with the first. Some dodgy distribution

Bruno 5
Greer 5
Upson 5 - How did any of our defenders get man of the match when they let Barnsley walk right through to score?
Ward 5

Bridcutt 5
Crofts 5
Forster-Caskey 4 - Barely noticed him
Lopez 4
Conway 6 - Thought he played quite well in the second half

Barnes 5

Buckley 4
Agustein 5
Lita 4

I wasn't pleased with the performance, but I thought some of the abuse the fans gave them was unwarranted. It's often said on here that NSC is just an internet messageboard, that it isn't representative of the real fans. Going on the people around me it is. There are plenty of negative people around me who seem to be hoping for us to screw up so they can complain. Granted, the team gave them a lot of reason to, but it sometimes feels like the people around me will accept no less than perfection - any pass that doesn't meet a team mate is slaughtered, any shot that doesn't go in, any corner that doesn't result in a goal, any opposition run that isn't stopped. The arrogance of our fans is rather offensive. This sense that "we should be beating teams like..." just because we're brighton. Even before the game had settled down into a clear pattern of us under-performing and Barnsley playing well people around me were ready to jump on the team they supposedly support because one pass was overplayed or intercepted. It's ridiculous.

Also frustrating to (twice) see Lopez cross a ball that is close to being perfect. An inch higher and it goes past that last defender onto the head of the teammate just behind that defender and hear people complain "who was that to? There's no one there! awful!", then see Buckley do exactly the same thing to be met with "That's what we've been missing!".

Some people have already decided that Lopez isn't good enough this season, so allow that to paint their reading of the game. (Same with Conway, Bruno, Greer, has always been the case with Barnes).

As bad as our performance was, it was the people around me who disappointed me most today.

Worthing
Kuszczack 6
Bruno 5 - wasteful, slow
Greer 5
Upson 6
Ward 5 struggled at times with their movement
Bridcutt 6 lots of tidy stuff but generally sideways and with Crofts, JFC and Lopez as support we were pedestrian
Crofts 5 for our more advanced midfielder, he needs to look up a bit more and see the runs
JFC 4 anonymous again, lightweight
Lopez 4 enough already
Conway 6.5 not a big fan, but he provided some of the more positive aspects to our play
Barnes 6 had little to work with, but still wasted some chances.

Subs:
Buckley 5 the new Wendy Wilkins?
Agustein 6.5 brought some spark and presence, linked play with pace
Lita 5 no time to establish himself

Bruno 3 - Far to casual. Could strangle him sometimes he is so laid back. Some of the balls he floats in to the box and over hits are pathetic.
Greer 3 - Including Bruno, weakest link in the defense. Gets turned far far to easily. A new centre half must surely be top of the shopping list. Genuinely believe he has become a liability this season.
Upson 6 MOTM - Thought good performance compared to the rest. In a different class to the right sided defenders.
Ward 5 - Solid.

Bridcutt 5 - Not bad for first full game back. Going by Liam's standard, can only get better
Crofts 5
JFC 5
Lopez 3 - Why? That's it. Why is he in the team. His form does not warrant a starting place at the moment. If he starts Saturday, I think I will start to doubt Oscar for the first time. He is persevering with him, I'll grant him that, but I think its only fair to put Spanish out of his misery for a few weeks at least. He's just not done anything all season to warrant a starting place for me.
Conway 5 - Looked dangerous at times. No real outlet for him though.
Barnes 4 - MMM the marmite man. Not for me. Don't think its fair to play him in the role that he's in.

Subs:
Buckley 4 - Very light wait. A shadow of his former self. No doubt he will return to the player we saw last year.
Agustein 7 - Might shock a few people, but for a player that has very very limited game time under his belt, he looked in a different class to Spanish Dave. Nearly everyone of his balls into the dangerous zone were whipped in and caused Barnsley all sort of problems. Mark my words. When Ulloah is back, people opinions on this player will change. Think he has a big part to play this season...... but he needs better targets than he had tonight.
Lita 6 - I am clueless why Oscar left him on the bench until ten minutes to go, and then swapped Barnes for him when we needed goals! Looks a classier option to Barnes. Needs to start Saturday instead of Barnes. We are too reliant plays a high ball to Barnes which is not his game and not working. I think Lita may stop this and make us play more attacking.

Kuszczak - 5 shouldn't have let their first goal in.

Bruno - 5 One of our better players in the first half (that wasn't much of an achievement). Solid defensively but lacked attacking flair.
Greer - 4 What was his defence doing for the first goal.
Upson - 5 He would have had the same mark as Greer if he didn't score.
Ward - 4 Not his usual self.
Bridcutt - 5 Lack of game time showed.
JFC - 4 Anonymous throughout. He could do with a short break to let him recover from playing several games on the bounce.
Crofts - 5
Lopez - 5
Conway - 6 Lack of pace showed but still did reasonably well.
Barnes - 6 Not much a striker can do if he isn't getting much supply. Did well to get the bicycle kick off that went just wide. I don't get why he was subbed off when a goal down.
Buckley - 7 Gave pace to the team and supported Barnes.
Agustien - 6 Showed strength and put in some good crosses.
Lita - looked frustrated throughout his very short time on the pitch.

Still in Brighton
Not much to add other than I laughed about the comment comparing buckley to wendy wilkins, used to love buckley but this comparison is sadly coming true; Ward is being over scored thought he was v poor defensively. Spanish dave has definitely been oh so poor but there were still flashes of good or nearly good balls and his corners have improved (was it his corner upson scored from?). Agedstein I've always liked from when I saw him v newport however he seems to be getting fatter not thinner? I would definitely rather perserve with him than spanish dave as this is a player who dominated man u when at swansea not long ago and we desperately need creativity. I think kooshack is being unfairly played, he must have been bamboozled by the pansy panicy defending infront of him.

Kusczchak 5 - should have saved first
Bruno 5 - started well, then poor
Ward 4 - awful
Greer 4 -rarely wins a block tackle and poor throughout
Upson 5 - only not a 4 because of the goal. Marginally better than Greer.
JFC 3 - too lightweight at this level
Lopez 2 - if Oscar cannot see he is not good enough, then his judgement is questionable
Bridcutt 5 - off the pace, but will improve
Crofts 5 - anonymous
Conway 6 - probably the pick of a very bad bunch
Barnes 5 - no service, from a hopeless midfield.

Buckley 5 - looked more dangerous, goes down easily
Agusten 4 - pretty on the ball, but never chases back when we lose possession. Luxury player.
Lita 4 - starved of service. No impact

Mostly agree with this, except Pig gets 4. Shown up tonight by the opposition keeper who oozed quality, slowing the game and great distribution along with an excellent save from Conway. Wtf is he doing in the Championship if he plays like that regularly?

Bridcutt 3 in the 1st half and 6 in the second.

Encouraged by the vision of Agustien, hope he starts in place of Lopez on Saturday.
Conway was my MOM.

I agree with virtually all of this. I thought Agustein was pretty good and inventive when he came on.

Football is such a simple game sometimes, they simply had more desire, we're playing for their footballing futures, won virtually every 50/50 ball and worked harder. That's why they won!

. I think kooshack is being unfairly played, .

Not really. He had almost nothing to do all night, except concede two soft goals. If you consider a 5 as a starting point, he scored 2 minus points, for the goals, and his dreadful distribution counteracts the occasional caught cross.

Anything over a 4 is over scoring him, IMO.

If Ankergren had let those two in, you'd be seeing marks of 1 or 2 on here. TK's previous good record has earns him credit.

Cannot mark that lot...but for the view I could be forgiven for thinking I was watch a Gillinghamesque performance...again,no passion to attack and win the ball..."Oh!I'll stand and watch this pass to me,I'll wait till it reaches me."..playing too deep...nothing upfront...but not Barnes fault....sort it out please Oscar....we cannot afford to play like that if we are serious about a play-off place..

Don't want to rate the players this week as I think that performance is down to bad management.

Barnes looked lazy/tired but who can blame him when he's being asked to chase their back 4 all game being the only man upfront every game when we have another striker on the bench. Really bad use of squad from OG in my opinion.

The players look disillusioned at home now. The style of play suits nicking points away but stinks at home. Presumably Leicester are a good side so the style will suit again on Saturday but you don't play the table toppers every week.

Before yesterday Barnsley averaged 0.125 points per home game and we gave them 3. 24x their average!

Keep bumping into people who tell me they are not going anymore and I can see why.
