On the Border
Ryan - 6 Not a lot to do other than pick the ball out of the net
Bruno - 5 Looked like the 3 games in a week had caught up with him
Duffy - 6 As usual won everything in the air
Dunk - 6 Below usual level
Bong - 6 Steady
Knockaert - 5 Didn't seem interested in the defensive side after half time
Stephens - 5 Average
Proper - 4 Seemed to give the ball away a lot
Brown - 7 Showed why he deserved a start
Gross - 5 Not involved too often
Murray - 5 Could (should) have had a hat trick, the one just after half time the most costly

Ryan 5 can giv no more when we let in 5
Bong 6 Distribution terrible in first half. Improved 2nd
Duffy 4 Why on earth couldnt he out jump goalscorer for first goal.
Dunk 6 Know we let in five.but one of few who is willing to take things forward
Bruno 3 Sorry but was terrible throughout
March 6 Few mistakes but not bad
Propper 4 Contributed nothing
Gross 3 May as well not have been there. How on earth was Brown subbed and not him
Knockhaert 6 Not bad Tried to make things happen but not helped by a poor Bruno
Murray 6 Good mark for somebody who missed 3 chances but those apart thought he did well. Hope we stick with him because best we have.
Brown 6 Defensive duties poor in first half when he diddnt seem to know what his role is Very good 2nd half and must take Gross position at least at home.

Jose Made a difference and unlucky not to score
March Did very little
Though 2nd half score 3.1 was very harsh. Unbelievable that after holding them they score direct from a corner. People entitled to a poor game but not as poor as Bruno and Gross. Very strange Brown was subbed. Never going to have much of ball but when we do why do we so often give it away

Ryan 6 No chance with any of the goals
Brruno 6 Not one of his best games
Duffy 6 Solid but caught out for the 1st goal.
Dunk as per Duffy but not sure who should have been marking Can.
Bong 7 Best of the defenders.
Knockhaert 5 Non existant most of the time
Propper 7 Put in a decent shift
Stephens 8 By far our MOM very good but with the odd stray pass.
Brown 6 Quiet 1st half but improved in the 2nd
Gross 5 Probably his least effective game for us.
Murray 6 Tried but had no support.

Subs

March, Iziquierdo Schelotto all 5 offered nothing when they came on and made no difference.

As a team we were outclassed and totally outplayed as most expected we would be.

It appears that only you and the sponsors thought Stevens was M O M.

Ryan 7 Excellent distribution
Bruno 4 moving on.....
Duffy 7 the Ireland hammering by Denmark has affected him but getting there now

Stephens 5 worked so hard to get the ball but then gave it back
Propper 5 as Stephens
Brown 7 awful first half but better second
Gross 6 had to play too deep
Murray 5 tried so hard but not the performance of a top finisher

Here
Yes, Liverpool are a great team, but we have shown against Arsenal and Man U that we can hold our own against a top six team and not get humiliated. Today however we decided to pass the ball to the opposition all over the pitch and just about every player was equally guilty. Dale Stephens had a shocking game, first half in particular, passing to Liverpool players just about every time he had the ball. He improved slightly in the second half, but still gave the ball away regularly. Just hope we don't need any points from the last game of the season (Liverpool away) in order to avoid relegation.

Ryan 6. Didn't look to me as though he could have done anything about the goals. Didn't have a lot else to do apart from picking the ball out of the net.
Bruno 4. Not impressed today.
Duffy 5. Way off his best.
Dunk 5. Ditto.
Bong 6. The best of our defenders, but that's not saying a lot.
Stephens 3. Awful. How the sponsor's gave him MoM is beyond me.
Propper 5. Poor performance.
Knockaert 6. Some good stuff, but spoiled by the number of times he gave the ball away.
Brown 7. MoM. Provided a real spark, particularly in the second half. Looked like our main attacking threat so no idea why he was subbed.
Gross 5. Way below his best.
Murray 6. In spite of his failure to score from two or three decent chances, I thought he worked hard and did well holding the ball up.

Subs:
Izquierdo 7. Looked dangerous. Should have come on earlier, but not for Brown.
March 5. Looked like he hardly touched the ball.
Schelotto 6. Looked OK.

Message to Chris: Please instruct your players to pass to their own team-mates. Passing to our opponents is never going to win games.

Pretty much agree with this, I can forgive many things but the number of times our players passed the hall to a Liverpool player was absolutely unforgivable.

Can’t be arsed today, but watch that ball from Brown to Murray at 2-0 on MOTD tonight. Had a perfect view in the north end of the WSU. Sublime. Bong very good too. Stephens had such a mixed game. Some very positive moments where he moved the ball really quickly, then he’d give it away cheaply the next time he had it.

Bongs positioning was good? Watch their second goal. He doesn't get back in to stop the ball reaching Firmino who was their only player in the box. It was a great cross but he was still ball watching.

It appears that only you and the sponsors thought Stevens was M O M.

I think he did okay in the breaking up play aspects, such as putting in some decent tackles and generally getting in the way. But what was missing from his game was doing something with the ball when he got it.

Stephens has no out ball, he looks but nobody gets free or makes the necessary movement. Must be frustrating after he creates a little space to work from.

Ryan - 6 nothing to do
Bruno - 6 some good some bad
Duffy - 6 as above
Dunk - 6 as above
Bong - 5 great going forward. not so good at the other end
Knockaert - 6.5 worked really hard
Stephens - 6.5 as above
Proper - 6 some good some bad
Brown - 6.5 glimpsed some of the skill he has and hopefully he can kick on
Gross - 5.5 didn't get into the game
Murray - 6 worked hard but too isolated. first good chance on his left.. meh, and the second was trickier than I thought (after watching the replays)

Overall we had a bad day, but the front 3 for Liverpool are world class...... as are others in their side.

Oh well.
