The Hemed-Baldock partnership strikes again! No loses for this unit yet - unstoppable & undroppable.

Stockdale 6 - wasn't required.
Bruno 7 - got on the overlap well and flair as always.
Goldson 7 - classy player. Technically good and positionally very aware given he's had very few games at this level.
Dunk 7 - finally a goal from a CB, and otherwise unbothered by their oafish CF.
Rosenior 7 - great to have him back. Lovely surge into the box to win the pen.
Knockaert 6 - quiet by his recent standards but worked hard as usual.
Stephens 8 - back to his best after a quieter few weeks.
Kayal 8 - busy all over and dominated the middle. Great asset.
Murphy 7 - drifted in and out, but linked up well with Rosenior. Has been great recently.
Hemed 9 MOM - cool as ice, cheeky AF penalty and great instinct for the second. Link up play was excellent.
Baldock 7 - quiet for spells but put in the hard yards and although it was an OG, terrified Bamba with his movement. Deserved a goal of his own.

Skalak 6 - needs to calm down and take a breath, he looks too excited to be here. Undoubtedly has talent (his run for the 1 on 1 was great) but lacks composure (see the same 1 on 1). Benefit of the doubt for me, while he settles in.
Wilson 5 - not much chance to have an impact really.
Sidwell NA - barely noticed he was on the pitch.

Stockdale 7 - Nothing to do, no mistakes

Bruno 7 - solid despite carrying a little niggle
Goldson 7 - very composed throughout
Dunk 8 - equal to Goldson but extra point for his goal
Rosenior 7.5 - won the penalty and played most of the game after getting an unfair yellow

Kockeart 6 - quiet and wasted a few good opputinities by delaying passes
Stephens 7 - industrious as ever
Kayal 7 - very good yet again, happy he went off early when the game was won for a much needed rest
Murphy 7 - he's getting very consistent now and had a decent game, excellent link up play

Hamed 8.5 - MOM 2 goals rewarded him for his excellent form in recent weeks
Baldock 7 - amazes me how this partnership is so effective (no loses!!) when he never looks amazing!

Subs
Skalak 5 - some hood runs but an awful 1-v-1 miss
Sidwell 6 - did his job
Wilson 5 - wanted to see him earlier, not much opportunity to impact the game.

Kayal just about shades it as MoM for me. Celtic were nuts to let him go. Class act.

As I said in the match thread, I loved that Baldock, Stephens and Knockaert stuck up for themselves and their team mates after a couple of terrible challenges & petty kickouts from them. Yes we did pick up a booking because of it (see Baldock) but it just emphasises the togetherness and ruthlessness of the team at the moment. We're not taking shit from anyone and no mistake is being left unpunished.

I love the way this team has come together, seems we have a great bunch of like-minded, talented players that are all as ambitious and set on their goals as each other.

All of this.

I upgraded Jnrs pass last night (he's away yomping around Snowdonia with his college) and took a work colleague who hasn't been to the Amex for at least a season or two. Before kickoff, he asked who of the Albion players were worth looking out for as quality players.....Well, I started with Stockers and with hand on heart, went through the entire team...at this moment in time, I just dont see a weakness, they're all quality!

1st Half all 8 except Hemed 9

2nd Half all 7 but by then the job was done although I would love to have seen us go for more goals to help the GD.

Subs all 6. Did what they were there for, wind the game down and rest players.

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
Stockdale 7 - one easy save, good distribution

Bruno 8
Dunk 8
Goldson 8
Rosenior 8

Back 4 all solid, great to have Liam back.

Knockaert 6.5 - not up his usual standard
Stephens 7.5 - improving again
Kayal 8 - absolute dynamo
Murphy 7.5 - good form continues

Hemed 8.5 MOTM - love the bloke
Baldock 7.5 - the side is better with him in it

Skalak - 6.5 Lively, promising but fluffed a great chance
Wilson - 5.5 struggled to make an impact
Sidwell - 6 didn't do a lot

I agree with all of that.

Bruno & Rosenior 6's? That surprises me both were in the running for MOTM for me alongside the Israeli duo.

Yup.........

I just watched the highlights. French Tony had a better game than I gave him credit for, was involved in a lot of good stuff. Struck me watching the re-run how much quality we have all over the pitch now. Dread to say it but there really isn't a weak link, and the bench cover is tremendous. Also good to listen to the players post-match comments - regardless of who is speaking, it's all about the team, all the time. What a bunch. Going to be an interesting couple of months.
