Sanchez 7 - couple of good saves, decent distribution. Solid performance.

Cucurella 7 - not his greatest game but still one of the better today
Burn 7 - solid
Webster 6 - decent defending but gave away the ball too many times
Veltman 6 - ok defensively but not much of a threat going forward

Mac Allister 6 - very hit and miss today, some nice passes and defensive work and some very sloppy giveaways
Alzate 7 - thought he was fine, he sells himself a bit easily while defending and sometimes holds on to the ball too long, but overall I think he was good today
Moder 7 - improved as the game went on
Gross 6 - struggled to create much along with Veltman, but still a handful of decent actions

Trossard 6 - one of the worst sinners today when it came to decision making today, some good actions though
Maupay 7 - poor first half but good for the last 30 minutes with nice movement and hold up play. Great cross for the goal.

Lamptey 8 - different level to Veltman and Gross and it showed, looked sharp
Welbeck 8 - lively and scored the goal
March - played too little but think he was ok

Agree with all of this, but would give Maupay a 6. He was really poor for the first 60/70 minutes but, as you know, his work rate and persistence always means something might pay off. It was a great cross. Welbeck is excellent at heading the ball: all three of his goals have come from his head.

Sanchez 7 Not much to do
Veltman 7 Unfair to say not on same level as Lamptey. Different role more defensive and did that well.
Webster 7 Good
Burn 7 Good all the time defending in central position
Cucurella. 7 Defended well and got forward. I prefer him in this FB position
Alzate 7 Good . He must be delighted to play 2 games in a row in central position
Macallister 6 Felt he could have made a bigger contribution.
Gross 6 OK Does simple things well. 2 seasons ago mention was made he was up the top for distance run in a games. Wonder what the figures are now for our players
Moder 6 Did plenty well but in his 1st half role didnt get near Maupay enough.
Trossard. 7 So hard to mark always a danger. Sure was under instructions but played a bit too deep in 1st half.
Maupay 6 Maybe a little harsh as in 1st half Trossard and Moder didnt get near him enough

Brighton
Lamptey 8
Welbeck 8 MOM

They made the difference and caused Leicester all sorts of problems. Easily our best two players.

No surprise.

Sadly, we have fantastic cover across the squad but Lamptey and Welbeck are unique, we have no players with similar attributes in their regular positions. It’s annoying because both are vulnerable to injuries and need their minutes closely managed.

BUT, what a pair of players to bring on when you need to get a goal!

Good stuff in the away end today - Leicester were the quietest I've ever known. Never helps on a Sunday I suppose.

Can't be bothered to mark everyone. Dewsbury Hall and Thomas were pony for Leicester and loads of good stuff came down that side but more so when Lamptey came on. Shame we have to manage his time. We looked better in 3-5-2 as well. Wellbeck the aerial threat we'd been missing up to then. Could have won, maybe should have won but overall a good point especially as we weren't quite on it today for the first 60 or so at any rate.

Let’s be honest until Lamptey and Welbeck came on there was only going to be one winner, Gross love him although he literally walks instead of runs these days. Pace pace and more pace needs to added to the squad if only we had a speedy Japanese player

Sometimes you get a bit excited with your ratings (dont we all) but these are spot on imo.
The subs transformed the game.

Sanchez 7 - Good game
Cucurella 8 - The effort this guy puts in - crocked twice but still kept going
Burn 7 - solid and unlucky not to score
Webster 6.5 - Been overshadowed by Burn but a good game
Veltman 6.5 - Good defensive work, if he was as effective coming forward then he would have cost a lot more and wouldn't be here

Mac Allister 6 - Lots of energy but too rushed and misplaced passes. Marked down as his shooting was poor
Alzate 7 - Least obvious of our 4 midfield but put in an excellent shift looks the player we all saw a year ago but stronger
Moder 7 - improved as the game went on
Gross 6.5 Ok but not good enough now as his set plays are not good and his shooting has gone as well- got marked up for that turn......

Trossard 6 - Poor game by his standards
Maupay 7 - Seemed to carry on in same way he had against Chelsea , nothing stuck and probably missed a decent header first half and also got in Moder's way. Once Welbeck came on he was a different player and what a cross

Lamptey 9 - MOTM such a brilliant player
Welbeck 8 - Close to MOTM .
March -ok

overall thought we tried too many clever back heels when a shot might have been more productive.

This is the best team I have seen in 50+ years of watching so many good technical footballers ....
