Stockdale. 7 Thought he had a mistake in him today, but he was well-covered by the defence and solid. Kicking less accurate than it has been
Bruno. 8 Took time to settle but then became our bearded Spanish Don again. Classy and confident
Greer. 8 Commanding and unflustered.
BFG. 8 Might be developing bromance. Put under pressure but coped very well and grew into match
Bong. 7 Again put under a lot of pressure but coped well. Reliable and confident
Rosenior. 8 Really intelligent player and good man too. Caused Hull troubles
Stephens 8. Firm and creative. Excellent with Kayal
Kayal. 9 I never thought I'd see a better player in the stripes than Lawrenson. I might well be wrong. Superb and makes things revolve around him.
KLL. 7 Hull for the most part nullified his threat. Was it a clever booking?
Baldock. 8 Really coming good with Hemed. Great movement and vision but maybe still lacking a bit of confidence in front of goal?
Hemed. 8 Greedy and cocksure. Excellent signing who will do us very very proud

Ince. 7 Shored up the defence when he came on.
Zamora. 7 Intelligent and well, just Bobby!

CH. Got it spot on today

Ref: in all fairness not bad. we'll get worse

Hull fans - excellent for way they joined in the commemoration and for their attitude to Rosenior

Hull team - put us under a lot of pressure but all huff and puff

Spot on.

A lot of very generous ratings today, or maybe I'm in a bad mood? Who knows.

Stockdale 8 Good without having to do anything major, handling and kicking were good.
Bruno 6 Average game for him without a real threat against him.
Hünemeier 6 Challenged for everything, some strange decisions and not as confident looking today.
Bong 6 Average performance not helped by having no real option in front of him to pass to.
Rosenior 6 Didn't really do much but looks very competent and solid.
Stephens 8 Fantastic player on a different wavelength to some.
Kayal 7 Not at his most impactful but a very good performance and nearly scored.
LuaLua 5 Hid inside, wasn't involved - he remains not my favourite player.
Baldock 6 Baffled by the praise. His finishing is terrible and he doesn't do much.
Hemed 7 Good finish but should have had a second. I like him.

Subs
Ince 6 No real impact but we kept our clean sheet in tact so job done.
Zamora 6 Got the crowd on their feet and showed enough in his short appearance.
Murphy 7 More involved in the game than LuaLua, looking forward to seeing him more.

Hughton 6 Tactically I think we got away with it a bit, we banked on Hull not being able to score a goal, surrendering territory and posession almost the entire second half. Hull weren't good enough to get through us which is a credit to his coaching, this his team in his set up and he's got us solid defensively and scoring the odd goal so full credit but it was a poor second half performance after the attacking glory of the first half.

I take it you weren't at the game then?

Greer 6 Another who was average in the face of almost nothing to do at all.

It would appear that you may not have been at the same match as everyone else on here???

I take it you weren't at the game then?

Not only was I there, but I watched the game too. I wonder how many of the ratings are from people in the North stand? Different angle of view on the game makes a significant difference, as well as general perspective on the game. I've marked the players based on the performance as I saw it.

Love how we see the game differently :lolol:

Stockdale. 7. Dealt with crosses effectively. A shot from Akpom which he pushed safely round his near post. Last year in similar circumstances he pushed ione in his own net. Made a good save from Diame the other side. Distribution was good but his dribbling round opponents before clearing may need rethinking.
Bruno. 7. Until he tired late on he was a class apart. Clearly been told he is first choice and confidence & performances greatly improved as a result.
Greer. 7. Commanding performance as the orchestrator of a very good defence.
Huenemeir. 7. Mobility allows him to defend further up the pitch and still be back in position when needed. A good foil for Greer whose natural inclination is to defend very deep. The BfG likes to defend a little further forward and is quicker coming out. The debate between him and Dunk will run and run but we are certainly no less effective with him in defence.
Bong. 7. Gets forward well and contributes to our speed in breaking from defence. His defensive partnership with KLL is developing beautifully. A great improvement on last season.
Rosenior. 7. Has such a good footballing brain. Contributes going forward with speed of pass and movement but most effective in covering opposition midfield from breaking forward
Stephens. 8. Non-stop, combative and always looking to break forward. Not every pass works but He makes so many that he will always hurt opponents at some point
Kayal. 8. Premier League player. So unlucky not to get a goal his play deserved.
LuaLua. 6. Okay he was less effective going forward with Hull forewarned and doubling up on him but his defensive contribution was excellent which I suspect is why Hughton kept him on while Hull were enjoying their inevitable positive spell.
Baldock. 7. Ran hard. Good ball control. Needs to score to build his confidence.
Hemed. 7. Scored one. Missed a sitter. Could easily have had a hat-trick. Good positional sense makes up for lack of pace. Someone said he was a lucky striker rather than a good one. I think the same was said of Gary Lineker. Very happy to have him.

Ince. 6. Always hard coming on late to get the pace of the game but he makes tackles, gives sensible passes and helps to break up opposition play at a crucial time

Zamora. 6. Held the ball up and made two exquisite early passes to the wing that were Premier League quality. More to come.
Murphy. 6. Possibly only came on to prevent a tiring KLL from picking up a second yellow. Good pace. Needs minutes on the pitch to understand the team set-up. Looking forward to Tuesday.

Hughton. Got it just about right on a difficult day to be the home team with all that was going on. It would have been easy to be distracted but he kept them honest. Good and timely substitutions and I'm loving our speed out of the blocks this season.

Calderon. Involved in the warm-up and was the club's nominee to stay out and represent the players during the pre-match tribute. Surely has to stay long term in a prominent capacity

Stockdale - 6 - I thought his kicking was poor and a few heart in the mouth moments with the ball at his feet. 3 routine saves where he was protected well by his back four.
Bruno - 7 - lackadaisical start but grew into the game and worked the right hand side well with Rosenior.
Bong - 7 - Performed well
Greer - 8.5 - Outstanding performance from the skipper
Hunemeier - 7.5 - No nonsense display from the German stopper
Stephens - 9 - Covered incredible amounts of ground and stopped numerous Hull attacks
Kayal - 9 - MOTM just edges Stephens for MOTM as slightly more quality in his passing
Rosenior - 7 - Reads the game well and protected Bruno. Would worry from a creative view point if he was our regular winger
Lua Lua - 6.5 Not his best game but he got through some good defensive work, an area of his game which has developed beyond all recognition
Hemed - 8 - Led the line well
Baldock - 8 Worked hard and produce some sublime touches

Ince - 7 - Worked hard and played well when he came on
Murphy - 6.5 - I liked what I saw when he came on and I think our front men will benefit from the type of service he will provide from out wide
Zamora - 7 Kept the ball well and a lovely dummy for Kayal

Agree with your scores but I loved how confident Stockers was with the ball at his feet. Great to see & made me laugh out loud

I sit in WU (south side), and too think your ratings are a tad harsh.

Stockdale 7 -- having a great season, good punches, solid saves, calm on the ball, just needs to get a bit more accurate with his distribution
Bruno 7.5 -- love him, and thought he worked well with Liam down the right
Greer 7.5 -- top stuff, another having a great season
Hunemeier 9 MotM -- I can't quite fathom how others haven't rated him higher. Proper, body-on-the-line defender.
Bong 7 -- good pace against Elmoh and Ade
Rosenoir 7 -- infectious solid pro, really intelligent player, fast too
Stephens and Kayal 8.5 each -- love these two in CM
LuaLua 6 -- not his best game, but did a cracking defensive job
Baldock 8 -- another hard-working display, with some sublime touches, could have done better with his chances, but it'll come
Hemed 7 -- another goal, line-leader, works well with Baldock

Ince 7 -- solid and shored things up. Again
Zamora 7 -- held the ball up well. Looked classy and ... slow
Murphy 7 -- decent little cameo

We were incredible for the first 15 minutes. Really should have put the game to bed then, but Hull didn't fashion many chances, and those they did manage to weren't up to much.
