Kuipers 3: Had to go once he took Novak out with no one else within 20 yards. Spectacular tantrum at the ref, may result in more than a one match ban as a result.
Whing 4: Poor tackle for second penalty, galloped up the field on occasion without looking convincing.
Virgo 4: At fault for first goal, looked a little off the pace at times.
Elphick 4: Won balls in the air, but like the rest of the defence went missing too often.
El Abd 2: If Bomber is a left back I'm a banana. Out of position at times and woeful back pass that resulted in FDM being sent off.
Croft 4: Failed to provide cover for the back four, little creativity when on the ball.
Navarro 3: Another crap back pass early doors nearly gave Town another goal, his partnership with Croft is on a par with the legendary Wilkinson and Marney front line when we were in the Championship a few years ago.
Jamie Smith 3: Out of position and out of his depth.
McLeod 5: Showed some good touches, one good shot in first half and the only player to run at defenders.
Cox 3: More anonymous than a black cat in a darkened room at midnight.
Dickinson 4: Great goal, ends up on the wing far too often for a lone striker, no support from the midfield when he did have the ball.

Subs:
Smith 5: Possibly the first Albion player to be booked on his debut before play restarts. Good penalty save and one other spectacular at the end. Nearly let the ball through his legs on one occasion though.
Forster 4: Ran a lot and unnecessary booking.
Thornhill 3: Looks unfit.

Crowd 7: Never gave up supporting the team and always positive. The chant of "Ten minute clean sheet, we've had a ten minute clean sheet" was the highlight of the evening.

straight red surely it will be a three match ban anyway el pres?

3 match ban is only for violent conduct, this was a denying a goal scoring opportunity which is only 1 match ban, but may be for the subsequent :flounce:

dickinson 10 and i dont mean his shirt number. only one wanting to play tonight. worked his ass off. scored the only goal we got. class of his own MOM for me tonight. defence was shocking . no bottle at all. why is tunnicliffe not on the pitch. he dominated the back when he was at stockport county and could do the same for albion given half a chance.

everyone else nil pwour

A few people have said it was a dive and Kuipers wouldn't have reacted that mental if it was the right decision?

Kuipers dived at his feet and missed the ball, Novak went down, it was a clear pen.

Whats going on with Navarro & Crofts though? both decent L1 standard midfielders but neither seem interested or good enough at the moment

They are probably good players individually but don't look a partnership.

I do feel sorry for Dickison. it seems that all to often he is stuck up on his own and expected to do too much. Whenever he has the ball or takes on the full back all the midfielders or still on the half way line. We need to go back to 4-4-2 or at this rate McLeod will win player of the season.

This is exactly the problem. We are lucky to have got this lad and all we are already doing is slating the bac off him wen he has been MOM near enough every game hes been inbvoled in. He works his bollocks off and puts his heart into the game. Even though he was taken off he still came and clapped to the fans at the end of the game

Put it this way, if it had happened at the other end, we'd have been absolutely SCREAMING for a penalty and red card.

Can't think of many that have been more clear cut, IMHO. Regardless, Kuipers' reaction was wrong- whatever you think, having a monster paddy in the referee's face is never going to change his mind, and the fact it's now being suggested the Chef has apologised to the officials already indicates he knows he's in the shit and is attempting to minimise the damage.

Kuipers 6: I thought it was a dive but he had to come, not a lot he could have done about the sneding off really.
Whing 6: Some swashbuckling runs forward but looked a little hesitant and not as solid as I've previously seen him.
Virgo 7: Generally solid, but didn't look 100% match fit for me, battled gamely.
Elphick 6: Imperious in the air but looked a little clumsy on the ground and at times positionally poor.
El Abd 5: Another one whos effort you cannot fault but his head dropped after the penalty incident and we need him back to his best desperately.
Croft 6: Excellent first half but another who let his head drop in the second and didn't seem to come for the ball.
Navarro 7: Distribution left a lot to be desired but tackled tenaciously and covered every blade of grass.
Jamie Smith 5: More to come from Smith but not on the ball last night.
McLeod 7: Some great direct running with the ball and mazy dribbles, our most dangerous outlet.
Cox 5: Not the game for Cox and looked lightwight and disinterested.
Dickinson 7: Lovely finish, worked hard for the team but found it tough up top on his own.

Subs:
Smith 6: Great penalty save, not much he could do with any of the other goals.
Forster 5: Anonymous

So basically you're saying everyone played at least averagely? In that case how did we lose 7-1?
