Kuzsczak - 9 (Brilliant stops and so much more in control of the back line - if Angkergen or Brezovan were in goal last night, we'd have probably lost 2-0)
Bridge - 9 (Solid, but also willing to get forward - even when he did lose the ball, he'd win it back and get it away from danger. And still he's not quite match fit by the looks of it - think how good he'll be as the season goes on if he can stay fit)
Bruno - 8 (He's just mental. Loves to get forward, likes to shoot and on another night may have found the net. And lest we forget the flair pass in the first half. Got given a tough game up against Bellamy last night and needs to ensure that he isn't found out at right-back)
Greer - 7 (Passing and distribution was suspect at times, but that double-tackle near the end was class)
El-Abd - 7 (Bar the sitter, kept Helguson at bay. Good steady performance again)
Bridcutt - 7 (Did well, showed a lot of energy and made himself available for a pass when he could)
Dicker - 6 (Often good in starting a move, but often poor as well in the sense that he'd succeed with a difficult pass and then give possession away with an easy ball straight after)
Crofts - 8 (One of the key things we were missing last season - gets involved in picking up the pieces from opposition attacks and provided much more of a link between midfield and attack. Promising)
Noone - 7 (Caused a few problems, and good to see him run at defenders and also try his luck at goal a couple of times. Could have been better with set pieces though)
Barnes - 7 (Link-up play was excellent, showed some clever touches, though he'd have had nightmares last night about his first-half header over and also that opportunity not long after where a poor first touch cost him)
CMS - 8 (Ran himself into the ground and on another evening may have got on the scoresheet. Great tracking back and didn't shy away from defensive duties)

Lua Lua - 7 (Didn't quite have all the impact we were hoping for, but he did cause fresh problems for McNaughton when he came on and whipped in a couple of dangerous crosses. Went close with that shot near the end too)
Vicente - 7 (Good to see him back, showed a few good touches and his trickery won a couple of free-kicks near the end)
Harley - No point in awarding him a score as he wasn't involved in the game when he came on. Don't recall him touching the ball in the ten or so minutes he was on the field

Surprised Greer is getting such low marks, I thought he was excellent. Can take on board what people are saying about his passing and moving the ball quicker but he is there to firstly defend and at least 3 times made an excellent tackle to deny an almost certain goal. Worthy of an 8 along with koosh and bridge IMO.

With those score (and I agree although would have Greer on 8 and Noone on 6) how did we not win?

Agreed, Cardiff got round or behind the fullbacks quite a few times especially in the first half and every time GG was in the right place making vital blocks.

Kuszczak - 9 Don't even know how he made that double save in the second half

Bruno - 7 He's got a lot of quality, he seems to lose concentration sometimes
Greer - 8
El-Abd - 7 Typical solid El-Abd performance
Bridge - 8 Loved how easily he beats players with the ball, obviously he is quality but some his crossing could have been better last night.

Bridcutt - 7 Not at his best, but still good
Crofts - 7 Easy to see how much more solid our midfield is with him in it
Dicker - 6 ok, not his best performance but some nice passes, the most likely to open up Cardiff with a pass

Noone - 5 Constantly wastes his own good work
Barnes - 7 Good performance, really needed to do more with his two chances. But we looked less likely to score after he came off
CMS - 7 Definitely seemed more comfortable within the team but still doesn't look that threatening as a goalscorer

LuaLua - 7 Not his biggest impact but caused a few problems, one good shot and a couple of bad ones.
Vicente - 7 Presumably not very fit, I don't see the point of playing him as the furthest player forward, you want him on the ball as much a spossible surely
Harley -

Spot on. Greer was class last night.

Pretty much go along with all of that.

Dicker hides as much as possible, he's like a ghost on the pitch no wonder you didn't notice him.

Bringing on Harley with 10 mins to go looked like the most pointless substitution made, ever. And Harley made sure it was.
Didn't even think he was playing at Swindon either, gus still loves him though:(

Kuszczak 8 MOM Some excellent saves and looked very confident
Bruno 7 Great going forward but caught a couple of times defensively
Greer 7 Solid
El-Abd 7.5 Kept Helguson under lock and key
Bridge 8 Classy
Bridcutt 6.5 Not his best game, not his worst
Crofts 7 Busy
Dicker ... I honestly can't rate as I genuinely can't recall anything he did at all. Not a criticism, just didn't notice him
Barnes 6 Did his defensive work well as usual but verged on Suarez levels of profligacy
CMS 7 Very busy and much improved but still needs more support
Noone 6 Flashes of brilliance marred by yet more terrible deliveries. Mind you his dead balls were pretty good

Subs
Vicente and Harley not really on long enough
Lua Lua 7 Lively and busy

Totally agree regarding Dicker. It as like playing with ten men. Bridcutt was poor by his standards. Agree with rest.

Barnes. Sorry, just didnt do it for me last night and deserved to be subbed. Hope he comes back better at the weekend. If you read this Ashley, not digging you out at all, but please take one comment on board. Your a big bloke, look strong, so with that in mind, please stop going down like ashley young and drogba, man up, toughen up and be stronger in the tackle, if you do you will score more goals, fact.

This.
Glad you didn't fall into the trap of rating a striker highly for not being able to strike, but for closing defenders down.

GK Kusczak - 8 - Great double save and all-round good performance.
RB Bruno - 6 - Blew hot and cold for me last night, moments of brilliance and moments of woefulness.
LB Bridge - 8 - Hugely impressive defensively and going forward.
CB Greer - 7 - Solid and dependable
CB El-Abd - 8 MOTM - Had a storming game won almost everything and broke up so many of their attacks.
CM Bridcutt - 7 - Another good game.
CM Crofts - 7 - Got through a lot of work and looks to compliment our midfield well.
CM Dicker - 5 - I've always considered myself a fan of his but we need to improve in this area to mount a decent promotion challenge.
LM Noone - 7 Poor first fifteen, but was instrumental in all of our best attacks.
RM Barnes -5 I've never been a fan and again we need better players than this to improve enough to be up there at the end of the season.
Str CMS - 7 Playing well, just needs a goal to hopefully rebuild his confidence.

Subs
Vicente - 6 Strange decision to leave him upfront on his own - some great control but less effective in that position.
Harley - 5 I don't recall him touching the ball.
Lua Lua - 6 - lively but a few misplaced passes.
