Can't disagree with that.

To be honest Bruno could never do much wrong with me, Stephens too but to a lesser degree, but they are both good players

Propper however, sometimes is a little 'in and out'. At Old Trafford I felt he was shocking, but thought he did well today - all opinions......

Sometimes a favourite deserves it - Bruno was a decent defender and brilliant going forward for season after season, goal machine Muzza got us promoted twice with an avalanche of goals and kept us in the PL. I loved Cullip too.

I also can’t understand the love for Propper. Obviously a marmite player. I would like to see us sign two new midfielders in January, to give us another option than starting Stephens and Propper. They both lose and misplace the ball on regular basis and contribute absolute zilch re scoring goals. Alzate has shown more in the few games he has played and makes less mistakes in a game. Mooy was the standout player today in midfield. I would like to see us start with something different in midfield to see if we can create and score from midfield because as it stands it’s not working. The strikers are not getting any help relying on crosses from the full backs.

That last bit was emphasised by the Radio Sussex team and subsequent callers. Maupay and Connolly generally get next to no service, today Maupay got none.

Ryan 8 Saved us from drubbing
Montoya 6 Fair
Webster 4 Looked woeful against fast forwards
Duffy 4 As above
Burn 4 He is not a full back
Stevens 5 Poor
Propper 5 Poor
Mooy 7 Only one with any composure
March 3 Embarrassing
Maupay 6 Made good runs but service crap
Trosser. 6 Didnt do much but him and Maupay no support.

Potter 3 All knew how Leicester would play but tactics poor. Defenders far to close to Vardy etc when long balls played allowing them to get past. Madness this playing out from back all of time especially passing to players that are marked. Nice how positive so many are but we could easily have let in 12/14 goals in last 2 games. I agree that last 2 sides playing gung ho were Huddersfield. and Norwich. Both realised it was foolhardy to play this way every game.

a galaxy far far away
Some low scores below, but read them in the context that we just played one of the best teams ever to visit the Amex and more than matched them for long periods of the game.

Ryan - 9 - Excellent saves. Surely our finest ever keeper.

Montoya - 6 - A hit and miss performance

Webster - 4 - All talk of an England call up firmly on the back burner. He now has questions to answer. His indifferent form is increasing the chances of White being recalled. My advice to him would be train in the basics of defending rather than the flashy dribbling stuff

Burn - 6 - Deserves a chance to show what he can do in a central position, rather than out of the left touchline all the time.

Duffy - 5 - Shanked a few balls out of play and was un-nerved by the sheer pace of Leicester's attack. Carries a goal threat which may help him play more minutes this season than many suspect.

March - 5 - It's been said that he doesn't go past players. True but he doesn't need to, needs to concentrate on getting half a yard and whipping it in. Carried the ball well today, but constantly checked before crossing, I believe, because we didn't get enough men in the box to make an early cross the percentage play. And he's a percentage player.

Stephens - 6 - Average performance.

Propper - 4 - A middle third player. A true maestro in the middle of the pitch. Iffy when helping his defence and absolutely terrible in the final third.

Mooy - 7- Like against Spurs, started very slowly, but he is such a clever passer. Justified the selection in front of Gross

Trossard - 3 - Nothing came off for him. Is he better off the bench?

Maupay - 5 - Ran hard and ran intelligently. Good shot from the angle in the first half. Needs to improve his chance conversion rate if he wants a career as a Premier League striker

Potter - 6 - No criticism from me. Was prepared to risk a loss to get a victory. In the end we got picked off on the break, but I'd rather that not show ambition at home. Against Everton that boldness paid off, today against a far better side, the better team won.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that Pröpper is neither the best or the worst player in the world. I know, controversial stuff...

His main issue is that he has no position in English football. In the Netherlands he often played in the role of the "pace accelerator" (as van Gaal calls it) together with a pure defensive midfielder and a pure penetrating attacking midfielder. Sort of the same role as Xavi had in Barcelona when playing with Busquets and Iniesta. But this role barely exists in England. Wandering around, collecting lost balls and setting the tempo is just very hard in the intensity of British football and few players can pull it off in the PL (I can really only think of Gilberto Silva). I'm fairly sure this is his last season in Brighton but the alternatives at the moment just isnt good enough to bench him when one or two players (like Alzate) are gone.

He really should move home to a Dutch top club or mid tier Spanish club.

Many of our players take far too long to decide what they're going to do with the ball. Alzate and Connolly both seem to have a plan as soon as they get the ball, but March and Propper seldom, if ever, do. I thought we might play a lot quicker under Potter than under Hughton and in some areas we do, but not enough.

I am just going to list them from worst to best:

Trossard - not affective and he did not hustle enough
March - was hoping that ball was not passed to him and when it was, he treated it like hot potato
Webster - First game back... maybe next week, we can have old Webster back
Stephens - typical game for him
Dunk - decent defender playing with less confidence than last year
Propper - Usual propper game
Maupay - hustles... did not get enough service but did not capitalize on a great opportunity
Montoya - above average performance for him
Burn - Our best defender today and kept the left side alive despite of March and Maupay
Mooy - his best game for us so far
Ryan - Outstanding

Subs - potter subbed in the wrong players. Too late and did not change game at all

To be honest, we weren’t exactly terrible. Leicester are just a more ruthless side and that’s that.

Marty gets a 9 though, kept it down to 2 certainly.

Potter 7 Ryan 9 Rest 6 Mooy was a disappointment, I would have preferred Groß (hindsight).

I would have done the same, picked the same side, been cautious in the first half and taken risks in the second. In real time I had severe trepidations when we were attacking from past experience against Liverpool and Man City. Same trepidations expected against Wolves.

I think different substitutes should have occurred on 63 minutes, but that is when Rogers outwitted us by letting us attack.

We need to build our midfield around Mooy.

The season has been saved so far by the precocious impact of Connolly but there is still a huge amount of rebuilding work to do to make us a consistent mid table team

Dunk. Decent defender not playing at all today

Potter. We needed someone to put killer passes into the box, he has Gross on the bench, so he brings on Schelotto...

Nailed it. For the Albion, Propper is majestic in all parts of the pitch aside from those that matter.
He’s the wrong player for us.

Ryan - 9 MOTM - 3 superb saves + a penalty save. Distribution excellent, my MOTM.
Montoya - 6 - Average
Webster - 6 - Average
Duffy - 5 - Poor today- at least three balls down the line that were sliced out of play- also should have scored.
Burn - 6.5 - good going forward
March - 6.5 - surprised at the negative comments. Involved in most of our good attacking work in the second half and helped out the defence as always.
Stephens - 7 - Decent game - up against one of the best midfields around, he acquitted himself nicely
Propper - 6.5 - Decent performance, but a couple of slip ups were costly
Mooy - 8 - Superb passing - such an intelligent player
Trossard - 6 - not his day to day
Maupay - 5.5 - Frustrates me a lot.. particularly when falling over for a penalties that aren't going to be given

Overall I thought a pretty decent performance against the form side in the division.

All of this apart from Potter who i score a 3.
Another person who cannot see Potters awful tactics and is caught up in Potterball. The penny will drop for the majority on here soon.

Potter will not change his style, even against the top teams. I think he'll see games against the top 6 as testing his system and getting ready for non top team games. Current players will need to adapt or be replaced.

Ryan 8 Saved us yet again.
Montoya 5 Average. Just not good enough for the key role he plays.
Webster 6 possibly came back a game to early
Duffy 4 the least Potter player you can imagine.
Burn 6 I like him but he shouldn't have the guaranteed spot he has
Stephens 6 does his job
Propper 6 I've grown to like marmite
Mooy 7 Sign him up
March 4 he's a defensive wing back these days. Like Montoya, just not good enough for the key role he plays
Maupay 6 difficult job but growing in to team well
Trossard 5 only a super sub at the moment for me.

I just can't see Montoya, Duffy and March lasting under Potter

Other than the ball that was slipped through second half and he wanted far too much time to get his shot away and the defender deflected it over.

Actually I thought that ball didn't quite have enough pace on it, which meant he had to wait a little longer than ideal. That defender was quality though, it had to be said.

Not too much to add to what has been said. March was proper rubbish though - he looked like he wanted to just get through the game doing the basics and not much more. Disappointing for him as I'll be amazed if he gets back in the team next week
