Calderon 3 apart from the cross he was terrible especially in his role as a defender
Upson 4 worst game I've seen him
Greer 3 awful is not a captain
Maksimenko 5 did his best

Ince 5 was ok
Augustien 5 again ok
Lopez 4 awful dead ball distribution

Barnes 2 why?
Ulloa 7 tried and tried again
Buckley 0 pointless like the team

Subs: not enough time apert from Lua lua who did more in a few minutes than Buckley has done since the first warm up game.

"Way wood passing?" Am I missing something?!? Sounds like an awesome song by the Strawbs or Rush! Seriously that's the best (honest) spelling mistake I've ever read on this here site. Next someone will claim Buckley simply varnished from the match etc. and so on. It made me smile anyway...

Andrews- 6 did nothing wrong
Lua Lua- 6 Lot of huff and puff..was blown down a lot!
Solly- 6 not enough time.

A few solid performances but that was all. LOTS of room for improvement.

I agree with much of what you write but
Calderon was poor - he started as a right back, that the prime objective !
Upson had a shocker (and I'm one of his biggest supporters)
Buckley didn't really turn up
and Barnes certainly wasn't at his best today probably a three for me.

Andrews, Lua Lua and March were not on long enough to score !

Kuszscak 4 - Less than I'd exoect from a keeper of his quality. 1st half distribution was...interesting.
Calderon 5 - Good everywhere except for right back, spent most of the 2nd half well out of position. Nice cross for the goal though.
Upson & Greer 5 - joint with Greer, both let down by others on the pitch, did fine considering the positons they were put in.
Maksimenko 6 - Best defender for me, had no cover in the 1st half so couldn't go forward, popped up across the back when needed, some nice touches.
Ince 6 - Good, not great, has promise.
Augustien 3 - Didn't help defend, many missed passes that left the team in a bad position...run and shot was good with some deft touches.
Lopez 5 - *shrug*
Barnes 5 - Can't fault effort, wasn't terrible, not good...yeah.
Ulloa 6 - Great header for the goal and worked hard but his first touch was shocking at times.
Buckley 2 - Genuinely forgot he was on the pitch.

Subs:

LuaLua 6 - Can't fault the effort, good sub as usual.
Andrews and March 5 - Not time to do much else

TK - 3 Poor game. Poor distribution and at part fault for their 2nd goal
Calderon - 8. Showed some real desire and crossed for the goal
Greer - 6. Very average
Upson - 6. As above
Maksimenko - 5.Looks no more than a league 2 player
Buckley - 5. A shadow of his former self
Agustien - 6.5. showing some promise but missed some decent through ball opportunities
Ince - 6. Looked okay but does not look like he wants to put in a strong challenge. A great effort on goal though that was inches from going in
Lopez - 5. Looks nowhere match fit and sloppy at times
Ulloa - 7. Done very well for the goal and looks a little fitter than last year
Barnes - 6. Tried hard at times but nothing special from him today

Subs:
Andrews - 5. Hardly noticed the guy
Lua Lua - 5. He looks fast over one yard. Poor
March - Not enough time to make a mark

I almost agree with you there. I would have given Dave a 6.5 as he was making some good passes in the middle if the pitch but his crossing from set pieces was very predictable.
I would also give Ince a 7.
And LuaLua gets a 3. He was constantly diving rather then having a go at their full backs and crossing it in, having a shot or passing.


I don't understand why people are criticising Calderon so much. He was one of our biggest attacking threats (some very good crossing) and the goals were not his fault. MOM in my opinion.

We played with very little width and went route one a lot just not what I like to watch and why lua lua and Buckley were stood in the middle was beyond me!

This is simply wrong. Buckley moved I to the middle to replace Barnes near the end. KLL was mainly in space on the left and as ever drifted in looking for the ball.

Buckley was also in the middle for a spell at the start of the second half, with Barnes just behind. But it was pretty fluid.

I agree, I've been thinking about this. To be honest, he was very poor for about 3 months last season and only improved and developed after a good 10 or so games. Maybe he's just a player who slowly winds up in a season?
