Peter Brezovan, 8 - Didn't do anything wrong. Not to blame for the goal.

Adam Virgo, 6 - Did well but a stupid sending off, why make that tackle with 10 mins to go :shootself

Tommy Elphick, 8 - Solid, Gave Beckford no chance all game.

Inigo Calderon, 7.5 - Like him more and more each game. Quala

Marcos Painter, 7 - Did well IMO

Alan Navarro, 7.5 - Broke up play well, *Waits for someone to call him anonymous*

Gary Dicker, 8 - Great game. Leeds seemed to struggle with him at times.

Elliott Bennett, 6 - Not his best game. Always going to be difficult.

Andrew Crofts, 7.5 - See Navarro.

Glenn Murray, 8 - M.O.M, ran his socks off and won the (dodgey) Penalty.

Kazenga LuaLua, 7.5 - Not match fit, beats his man and is bloody fast.

Substitutes

OGH, 6.7 - Thought he looked good when he came on, worked well.

Agree with most of those ratings.... Apart from Virgs who was great today..... Made two great blocks in the second half and won countless headers.

I agree he had a good game til he made a stupid tackle, I think we would have held on to the win if we had 11 players on the pitch.

You what!?

My opinion, didn't see the goal that clearly. If you had a better view i'm sorry.

Not the GOAL itself but...

We were (of course) 1-0 up with 10 odd minutes to go. He had the ball safely in his hands, we had 2 players (ish) outside the box to Leeds' 5. It was clear that no attack was on - and even if it was, why make it unless it is 100% risk free!

The right option, and what any coach would tell you, is to go to ground, let everyone set themselves, and fire the ball up the pitch. He decided to for some reason lob the ball to a Leeds player with everyone still in the box, leading to Virgo (stupidly) getting red carded and ultimately, drawing the game.

There is a VERY, very strong possibility (I would say definate but I'd get slated) that we would have won today if he had kept composure and kept the ball.

His kicking was consistently poor, he had that one dodgy 'kick' in the first half which could have gone anywhere, and lobbed 2 points to Leeds.

4/10.

There is also a VERY, very stong possibility that without some of his smart saves and commanding of his box we would have lost. :US:

Sort of - but Leeds' finishing was poor today.

Anyway, as a goalkeeper, one mistake can cost, and it did..

his mistake cost us nothing. It was virgo who decided to lunge in, not brezovan. Virgo's mistake cost us the win.

I used to think people were overstating the hatred for any goalkeeper who wasn't kuipers, but I'm not so sure anymore...

You honestly think Brezovan had no part in us losing the lead despite making one of the most ludicrous quick throws ever seen?

Indirectly he was quite clearly at fault. He doesn't make that pointlessly SHIT throw - Virgo doesn't end up in that situation.

The incident was BORN out of Brezovan's shocking throw, thus, he is partly at fault. (Not fully at fault, PARTLY)

It works both ways. Some are biased for, some against.

I honestly don't think Brezovan can be blamed. Virgo is entirely responsible for lunging in, and is the only one who can be blamed for that. There was no reason for it. The player was collecting the ball and heading towards him anyway, he could have stayed where he was and the player would have come to him with the ball.

As for ten men costing us the goal, Leeds had their keeper in their goal, and the guy taking the free kick leaving 9 leeds players to get in the box. Two of our players ran out to the our right wing and failed to cut out a cross. Having ten men didn't leave a free man in the box, poor marking did, an all to common lapse in defensive concentration. And that isn't Brezovan's fault. It is a recurring theme in our games.

Brezovan 5 - Very shaky, just fortunate Leeds didn't get very near our goal on the whole. As mentioned, stupid quick throw to sell Virgo up the shitter. Wonder if we'll be hearing anyone complaining about Michel's 'CONSTANT' time wasting next time he does it? Could have done with that today for sure. He probably would have done it discreetly enough not to get booked aswell. Oh, and kicking was bloody awful. In fairness took a few nice catches whilst we were holding on.

Calderon 5 - Panics far too much on the ball. Caught out of position a couple of times, and Bennett was reluctant to say the least to track the runner.

Virgo 7 - Could have been an 8 or 9 but for one moment of madness. Stupid tackle at a stupid point in the game, just leaves you wondering 'what if..?' However, kept Beckford quiet all game, which not many defenders in the league will do at Elland Road.

Elphick 7 - Solid, was surprisingly composed for a LITTLE bit on the ball, often chesting it down and looking up trying to find a pass rather than hopelessly headering it back where it came from.

Painter 7 - Again pretty solid, made a couple of superb challenges, but tired legs took their toll when Leeds brought on Gradel. Stood up to him well though and didn't allow him to get to the byline.

LuaLua 6 - Positional play is bloody awful. When Leeds caught us on the break he wasn't back helping out, and a couple of times in the first half they had a man over, which with a bit more composure on their part could have been costly. However, two moments of magic in the second half where he hit the ball 15 yards infront of him and charged past the defender and reached it, before cutting inside to the box and on another day way well have had a couple of goals.

Navarro 6 - Suiting his role better and better now, broke up play well and was a key part of a three man central midfield.

Crofts 6 - As above

Dicker 7 - I suppose a sligt bias as I'm a big fan of Gary Dicker, however after looking pretty poor in the reverse fixture, it was refreshing to see that he can compete with the best midfielders in this league, as Snodgrass was kept very quiet and it was always Dicker coming forward with the ball in our midfield.

Bennett 6 - Put in alot of effort but not alot of product. Looked lively in the first half and was substituted reasonably early in the second. Still a decent enough game though.

Murray 9 - Undisputed man of the match. Wonderful performance, ran his arse off and was very worthy of a goal. So many quality touches and was often creating something out of nothing, i.e when a long ball came, he read the bounce and not only beat Kisnorbo to it but rounded him with the same touch too. Superb forward play, I believe we have a real diamond in Murray.

Brezovan 6 - A bit panicky

Calderon 6 - Run out of puff towards the end
Virgo 6 - Would have been 8 but he's cost his team points AGAIN so he can lose some
Elphick 6 - Far too much giving the ball away hoofing
Painter 7 - Best of the back four

Bennett 6 - Lively but didn't threaten much
Navarro 7 - Mr Cool
Crofts 7 - Good performance
Dicker 8 - Oustanding, unlucky not to get my man MOM
LuaLua 7 - one or two dodgy moments but this boy will cause teams all kinds of problems with his pace, as shown yesterday, sign him up

Murray 8 - The other outstanding performance along with Dicker, the goal just nicking MOM for him

Didn't get home until nearly 3am after stopping for a bite to eat - surprised how nice a place Leeds is and even found some supporters who agreed that we overall outplayed them today.

Really disappointed that we didn't hold on although the goal felt inevitable and have to admit we were lucky with our penalty (outside the area IMO) so I guess overall I should be happy enough but......

Brezovan 6 - Good to see our keeper come out to catch a ball and also wanting to distribute it quickly - and yes maybe it did lead to Virgo getting in trouble but the bad tackle was not Brezovan's fault and once our defenders get attuned to a keeper who wants us to play from the back we will become a much better side
Calderon 6 - Runs and runs and runs. Can be a bit overzealous and jump in but the best full back we have had in a long time
Virgo 7.5 - silly tackle marred a very very good performance
Elphick 6 - not a bad performance but very limited in his distribution - needs an older head to keep him focussed so with Virgo out for a while I'm pretty nervous how he will do
Painter 7 - Good solid display with excellant positional sense - cuts things out unspectacularly before it gets dangerous
Bennett 6 - speedy but sometimes seems unsure whether his main function is defense or attack so doesn't impress as much as he might in either role
Navarro 7 - So solid and has great positional sense. Broke up things in midfield and provided good early defensive cover
Crofts 6.5 - Good solid performance but just seems to have lost a bit of edge from his very best performances
Dicker 7 - Good display - being dropped to the bench may have done him good as he looked really up for it and made some good passes
LuaLua 6.5 - people sometimes expect too much of a winger and his defensive cover isn't the best but has speed to burn any full back in this division
Murray 8 - MOM for an outstanding display. Hard to question his committment. Happy to stand to applaud him off the pitch.

In the shadow of Seaford Head
Brezovan 7 Thought he did OK given he has not played much footie recently except for the throw out to Virgo

Calderon 7 First half good, faded a bit in the second.

Virgo 8 - For 80 minutes the best game he has had for us for ages. Then the red mist descends

Elphick 7 -Competent job

Painter 7 - Did all you could ask of a defender

Bennett 6 - Promises much, delivers little

Navarro 7 - Gets better each time I see him

Crofts 7 - Usual good performance but would have liked to see him attack a little more and risk a few shots at goal

Dicker 8 - Back to his best. Has some lovely touches

LuaLua 7 - Loved his passion and his 2 runs beating their defence were a joy to watch. Just needed Forster on the end to bash the ball in. However not yet got his defensive role right

Murray 9 - Wonderful energy and skillful performance. Cool penalty too after a long delay. Leeds would love to have him!

Hart 6. Ran his socks off and did cause their defence a few problems.

The commentators suggested it was because gus wanted a keeper that would come for crosses and nullify one of leeds's biggest threats.
