Kuipers 8 - not a lot he could do about goals, good save from pen - kicking poor - I would of guessed he was expecting more to do

Richards 9 - crisp passing good defending good pen.

Virgo - 9 Class, best player on pitch MOM

Elphick- 8 Class, shame about Citys second goal though

Whing - 7 did well

El abd - 6.5 did ok, kept giving the ball away in key areas though, shut down players well

Livermore- 9 only second to Virgo, worked endlessly.

Thompson - 7 kept things simple, got through a lot of work

Frasers - 7 Did well keeping things tight

Loft 8 - class, didnt stop running

Murray 7.5 - Great goal, held ball up well needs to stay on side

Cook - 7 did well

Cox - 6.5 let Ireland go unmarked a bit too much

Anyinsah - 8 class, changed game sign him up

Kuipers 8 - Solid and good save for the penalty.

Richards 8 - Played well and worked hard. Cool for the pen

Virgo - 8 Gave his all in numerous positions. Couldn't ask any more

Elphick- 7 Solid but made a few minor errors

Whing - 7 Dependable as ever

El Abd - 6 Fine all the time he is tackling but needs to learn there is no shame in a 5 yard pass to a better ball player.

Livermore- 7.5 Worked hard covered ground and picked up a great yellow card for the teams cause

Thompson - 9 Outstanding. Worked endlessly kept the team moving forward and never left his defensive duties slip. MOM

Fraser - 6 Lookes over awed by the occassion and lacked positional awareness. Seemed to hide from the ball.

Loft 8 - Brilliant performance. Up and down and always looking to try something

Murray 8.5 - Ran his socks off and got a deserved goal. Tired towards end of 90 minutes

Cook - 7 did well........ whoever he may be?

Cox - 6.5 Worked hard and tried to do the right thing but still looks like a man playing with no self belief.

Anyinsah - 8 Brilliant performance, caused all sorts of problems and took his goal well.

Kuipers 9 - Brilliant, the only penalty he commited his dive to he saved. Mental dribbling the ball round their players 40 yards out his goal

Whing 7- Did well against the tricky winger, made some solid challenges, though he never excelled, I cant fault him.

El Abd 7- Solid, at right back, centre mid and centre back

Elphick 7 - unlucky with the 1st goal, at fault for the 2nd, but still quality

Richards 8 - possibly MOM, best performance for a while, and kept thre ball on the deck. Why didnt he celebrate the winning penalty?

Virgo 8 - played centre back, centre mid and up front throughout the game, worked hard, considering the amount of times he changed positions, great pen with the longest run up EVER

Livermore 8 - his best game for the club, played well as centre midfielder of 3

Thomson 9 - captains performance, played so much better with the comfort of 2 more central midfielders sat behind him, just about MOM from Richards

Fraser 7 - run his socks off, was everywhere, not a winger, but did his job. Won a great challenge at the start of the game, which clearly lifted the team into not being scared of the oppostion.

Loft 8 - 1st half MOM, great running forward, tremendous tracking back. Some great passes, and a great run in the first 5mins down the wing

Murray 8 - Offside a lot, but he scored, did loads of running and did a tremendous job playing upfront on his own

Anyinsah 8 - changed the game, with loads of pace, could have scored another when clean through, but was being held back by shirt pull

Cook 7 - expected to play right back for 5 mins, but ended up on for whole of extra time, switched to right mid for his own safety. MASSIVE throw in too.

Cox 7 - did ok ,actually tried to take on their full back, still needs to sort his set pieces but played much better than he has all year, good to have him back

Kuipers 8 - Some excellent saves and a coolness personified in the shoot out

Richards 8 - Redeemed himself. Very cool penalty.

Virgo - 8 - Centre back his best position.

Elphick- 7 - Got in some crucial clearances

Whing - 7 Seemed back on form

El Abd - 7 Worked hard

Livermore- 8 - played really well in the centre and showed great bottle to take the first pen

Thompson - 9 MOM Outstanding. I've been a big critic but last night we finally saw what he was all about. Ran the midfield.

Fraser - 6 - did reasonably well but subbed at the right time.

Loft 7 - worked very hard and tried to support the attack

Murray 8 - Caused the City defence some problems, worked hard and great goal and penalty

Subs:

Cook - 7 - it was funny when he came on, everyone looked at each other and wondered who he was! Thrown in at the deep end and did really well.

Cox - 8 - showed us what he could do when he came on, ran his socks off

Anyinsah - 9 - control, skill and pace, he made the difference. We need to hold on to him.

Adams made some big decisions and got it right - 10 for him!

I wouldn't disagree with any of that. Huge SHOUT for Adams; tactics absolutely spot-on throughout the game.

Amazing, the first post doesn't mention any of the crucial saves made by Kuipers during the game!!! Virgo, admirably enthusiasm but not much else. Thompson showed us what he can do given more freedom. Hope El Abd plays alongside him more often. Loft also deserves his chance in the first team and I would give Cook a run in the team. He could be our Delap.

Who the hell is Cook? IS he a youth teamer or have we signed him? I can't work it out.

Pretty much go with the above but with just a few add ons/differences.

Thomson 9 - Best I've seen him play. MOM with Richards.

Loft - I seem to be in the minority here, but he looked knackered to me even before half time.

El Abd - I'll be picky and mention he gave the ball away too easy at times. But I love him anyway.

Fraser - I think he could be a player to unlock defences for us. Showed again that he's capable of making lovely threaded passes where it counts.

Murray - I can't believe that ALL his offsides are the correct decision. He seems hard done by to me.

Cook - 1st time I've seen him and thought he did ok. All credit to him.

MA's game plan and subs decision - 9 - Spot on !

I'd go with that barring Lofts score. He didn't look classy yesterday but he worked very hard and made some strong tackles. Definately wouldn't say he was the worst player on the pitch.
Really rate Livermore and I was very pleased to finally see Thomson with a 1 on 1 with the keeper...

We didn't miss The Hawk and didn't need Lynch to fill the hole. We didn't miss McLeod but it's great to know he'll be back. We didn't miss Forster, but good to know that we look bloody strong playing 4-5-1

I think the extra man in midfield freed up Thompson to show us for the first time what a threat he can be. Let's hope we see this formation again.

Everyone played well, only player who was a gnat's below par (compared to his top form all season) was Whing.
