Knight and McGhee will complete the process - as stated - six weeks prior to the end of June - when the players' existing contracts expire.

By my reckoning that is today, let's see if a deadline is met for a change, could be an Albion first.

To be fair many players signed their contracts quite early last season.

Yeah six weeks is today, but will Knight fail to meet another one of his deadlines ?

appalling performance by the club on this one, truly appalling

They had to sort the managers job out first . True they have been slow, but I am sure not all clubs have sorted out their contracts and we have a lot of other stuff going on.

NB Just looking at it from both sides.

The players must just feel like just pissing off if another offer comes in... Could hardly blame them either, if nothing is heard today on Dick Knight's 'second' deadline for contracts then that is taking the piss for the players, a complete shambles like every Albion summer before it in the last 3/4 years.

But since the manager situation has been sorted we have had a deadline Knight gave for Wednesday, failed to deliver and said that today would be the day instead, will he fail to deliver again?... That's my gripe, why say something if you cannot stick to it? Imagine what it's doing to the players... It must be like dangling a carrott (yes i know tank probably doesn't like veg) in front of a rabbit and pulling it away laughing.

Whatever way you care to look at it, whatever the reasons, this is too slow and it's not the first time. It's every time.

Whats with all the six weeks from the end of June bollocks ? Why not say the middle of May ?

LOL

I believe that the players contracts expire on the 30th June so he is working back from that date.

Lots of clubs making announcements about players being released at the moment so probably all working to the same timetable.

My guesses would be

Butters - retained for a year - then coaching role?
Mayo - retained for a year (Cover for various positions)
Nicolas - as above with possibility of extending contract if he meets expectations
Hart - retained for a year
Dodd - released
McPhee - released (looked to have Swindon as an Option but they are about to change manager so thats probably uncertain)
Carpenter - retained for a year
McCammon - released (Will Bristol City sign him?)

What contract did Oatway get - another 1 or 2 years??
