Um...who cares?

I think it's a fine and noble thing that J K Rowling has got little kids of all ages reading big thick books. It's all good.

Having said that, the whole Harry Potter thing has somehow completely passed me by. Never read any of the books, never seen any of the films.

I was referring to the over the top title from HB&B as per usual.

Came out of the latest film with the missus and bumped into a mate who was keep to impress on us that it was "definitely not a kids film!" Funny, becuase throughout I was left wishing I was a ten year old so I could enjoy the big-budget, two-hour long kid's romp playing out on the SILVER screen.

Banal in the extreme and how it appeals so much to so many adults, I'll never understand.

Anyone over the age of sixteen who admits to reading HP should be taken out the back and dispatched with a bullet to the nape of the neck.

Ah, the classic inverted snobbery.
I am so much cooler than you because I haven't read a kids book.
It is popular for a reason. It is a good story. It doesn't matter if it was originally written for kids. It is a good story. It may not be to everyone's taste but the cool sophisticated snobs who reckon they are better than others who do enjoy it should take a good look at their attitudes to others. Live and let live.

I had a MASSIVE GEEK FEST 07 last night. At midnight I saw TRANSFORMERS at the cinema. FANTASTIC! After that I strolled into ASDA at about 3am. No queues. Picked up Harry Potter for a fiver, read a couple of chapters in bed and woke up just in time to watch the FORMULA ONE. Followed by a quick glance on NSC I was hoping to watch LA Glaxay vs Chelsea but it seems its not on TV and on in the early hours of the morning. Gay!
