Just read on another website that other Brazilian Clubs have offered to loan them players for free and have petitioned that Chapecoense be exempt from relegation for three years.

Lovely gesture if true.

Organisers say Atletico Nacional has asked for Chapecoense to be awarded the cup. Brazilian clubs have offered to loan players to them for free for the next year.

Horrible news and a horrible horrible situation for everyone involved, thoughts are with them

Fair play to the clubsfor that and that is a great gesture to loan them players.

One would hope that they would also remove clauses stating that they cannot play against the parent club. As if that happens it will damage the team in terms of having to change every game

Really sad new. Let's hope football worldwide comes together and supports Chapecoense in all forms. Everyone at the club, from family, friends, players, staff and supporters will be devastated. If there was ever a time for a Worldwide Fans united, it's now. They were so close to achieving a dream all small clubs dream of. We know what it feels to punch above our weight during the Withdean years, but luckily we all got to experience the dream come true. I really hope Chapecoense can continue the dream for all those who died in this tragic incident. From now on, Chapecoense will be my Brazillian team of choice. It will be very interesting to follow their progress. Let's hope they go on to great things after this.

It’s surreal seeing footage of them on the plane enjoying themselves and knowing their time ran out shortly after. Tragic

Just saw this on a news report. All smiles and laughter. It really choked me up :( poor poor *******s

Was reading more about this earlier.

It is not only the football club that has been devastated - most of the playing squad, plus manager, club president, medical staff - but also the Brazilian football media - there were a group of 22 football journalists, broadcasters and photographers travelling with the team.

They were going to play in a cup final. I suppose the equivalent would be the helicopter crashing killing all the Albion team in 83. It's unimaginable, how the fans will be feeling. The players families must be completely devastated.

Can't take it all in. Tried translating that to the impact it would have on our club but it's too much.
