Bored so just thought i'd start this thread for fun, to see how many move people move away from where they grew up for whatever reason.

I grew up: in hollingdean
I now live: in nottinghamshire after uni up here
I'd like to end up: living in the scottish highlands when I retire (in about 30-40yrs)

How about yourselves?

I'm going to add to this, since others have been quite forthcoming.

Born in: enfield, london
Moved to stanford road, brighton aged 2
Moved to moulscoombe for ten months after parents lost house and business aged ten.
Moved to stanmer villas, hollingdean aged 11
Australia for 1 year aged 20
moved to derby for uni aged 25
Moved to hucknall, nottinghamshire aged 28

Would be nice to move back to brighton doubt it will happen though... Well not in the foreseeable future. Happy to see where life takes me, but DEFINITELY would like a foothold in scottish highlands, the place is HEAVEN!!!

Lived in Inverness before I came to Sussex in 1979 and believe me it is a wonderful quality of life.

However you should allow for purchasing thermals for the winter though.

Yea i went up there in May, so i couldn't get a good idea what winter is like. However there is something magical about that part of Scotland and i would be prepared to stomach the cold. In an ideal world i'd have a pad in Brighton and Scotland
