It doesn't matter if Newcastle muck it up or not, they've already guaranteed at least the conference league place.
It does matter if Newcastle f*** up as it could potentially cost us a European place. If they finish top 6 they will qualify for either Champions League or Europa League, their Conference League place goes to the next best team to not qualify. If they finished 8th or below then the team in 7th is likely to miss out on Europe (taking the FA Cup out of the equation for the time being).

(I've been a bit hopeful on a few of the results, but the 0:1000 at Selhurst is nailed on.)

Yup definitely matters, and would've been better for our European aspirations if Liverpool had won yesterday.

Obvs better if Liverpool had won but our % odds have not been badly affected. The scenario where it matters is unlikely.

I’ve been pretty pessimistic in our games and optimistic for those around us…

I’d be happy with 8th place in the league and a day out at Wembley this season…

Plenty to be excited about moving through the summer and into next season as everyone is fully bedded in and firing on all cylinders.

Of course, goes without saying… I hope they exceed my expectations and we’re all going on a European Tour 🍻
