Not at all, just adapted with the times, sexism means sexism, as PPF might say.
You’re seriously apologising for a bloke hitting a woman on the grounds of equality? Jesus wept.

I've not said I condone the approach, I've said I understand what is going on.
And, to be honest, the meat industry is bad for all of us, not in terms of animal welfare but in terms of how it contributes to global emissions. If we are going to address the real challenges we face then we have to stop eating meat in the quantities we do.
[Partially true. The issue is largely about how meat is produced. Intensive systems with animals fed on feeds grown on land following destruction of rain forest, for example, is clearly disastrous. As is the production of palm oil (not associated with meat consumption obviously) which has created a disastrous monoculture where vast areas of the planet were under forest.
Where meat is produced in extensive systems (ie grazing) then the story is different because there is a closed loop between emissions and the role of grassland in acting as a carbon sink. Indeed the much quoted UN report states that in such cases livestock farming will be 'part of the solution'.
Adding in the need for a greater focus on animal welfare and the result will be less meat produced but in a planet and welfare friendly manner. This will inevitably make meat more expensive and people will therefore eat less.
This (or these). Punching people is wrong, but at the same time people have a responsibility for their own behaviour, and have to face the consequences if their conduct is offensive. If you stormed up to a complete stranger, got right in their face and made some disgusting slurs about their wife, mother, or daughter, would you seriously be shocked or outraged if you suddenly found you'd got a bloody nose?

Good post - thank goodness someone has explained that meat production per se is not bad - just intensively farmed, grain fed meat. It is not only bad for the planet but for our health. Naturally grazed, grass fed meat is actually good for our health and the environment. As usual the subtleties of the argument get lost in generalised statements such as "meat production is bad", which of course suits the vegans.
Incidentally, it is now clear that red meat does not cause cancer, but how long will it take for that to permeate the general consciousness. It seems like, either intentionally or unintentionally, we have been fed a lot of untruths over the years.
I have just had another look at the baldy man. Ewwww, the anger in that man's contorted face. Can you imagine how rudderless a man like that feels in 2019? unresolvable confusion combined with crippling self doubt. A man so poorly equipped to deal with the changing times that the only reaction in his repertoire is to punch someone in the face.
I don't agree with you..WALLOP! No, I can't understand your point...SMASH! Don't eat what?.....BOFF! I suppose it makes life simple, albeit miserable.

Yes. I really would be pretty surprised if a large man smacked a girl who got in their face and shouted. I really would. I just expect a bit of restraint. There are certain boundaries in life which you simply don’t cross.
You are correct. I have also looked at the protestors closely as well; I believe there are a few mental health issues lurking in there. Their obsession with veganism is probably one manifestation of that.
Sometimes it is hard to love humanity, eh?
This.
Some strange woman-hating rhetoric on this thread. If their daughters came home with a bloodied nose from a big bald man I very much doubt they would go “oh well, you can’t be that surprised”.
It's not "woman-hating" to suggest that women should be treated equally to men and not wrapped up like little sugar plum fairies.
That big people shouldn't hit little people (or even hit big people) is a separate argument and shouldn't be aggregated.

I don’t apologise for anybody doing anything.
What I object to is sanctimonious tosspots like yourself being oh so fuxxing holier than thou when applying the latest super trendy PC morals to those who you believe to be below you. Sexual equality means sexual equality for all, not just those who you think are deserving of it. Violence is violence, right or wrong it is still violence. Or is that only the case when you and your snivelling left wing apologists say so? Is it OK to use violence when it suits the cause you believe in, but not in other instances?
I understand perfectly that one mans freedom fighter is someone else’s terrorist, and also that my beliefs may be different from others. But when those like yourself choose to pontificate from upon high, but at the same time refuse to acknowledge that the opinions of others are at least worthy of consideration, then do not be surprised when you confronted.
You are a fraud sir (maybe I should have spelt that beginning with a ‘c’) as you wish to appear both righteous and educated. In reality you follow the whims of what is fashionable in your eyes, what is deemed to be popular in the chattering classes. You demean those that do not agree, and chastise those who object to your attempts to appear somewhat superior.
You actually are a great reflection of modern MPs who insist that they know best, rather than acknowledge their duty to serve the electorate. People like you caused Brexit, from your ivory towers and self proclaimed superiority complexes. Sadly you, and those like you, are unable to acknowledge the responsibility you should carry as you refuse to accept that others are entitled to think differently to your own self serving mantra. UK plc could well be fuxxed BECAUSE of you and people like you.
From a confirmed remainer.
