Boris absolutely destroyed by The Sunday Times yesterday. When The Times launches such a vehement attack on a Tory Prime Minister with a huge parliamentary majority, a five years term ahead of him and one who is himself sick you know there is a very big case to answer. All this amongst a national/global crisis too.

Surely there will be a public enquiry on the other side and even Teflon Boris will have to answer for missing the first five Cobra meetings, breaks in the country and the poor decision making about PPE and strategy.

That's all well and good but that wouldn't explain why we are scraping around for PPE to the extent headline news last night was that we were awaiting a delivery from Turkey of all places!!! Several trusts had reported they were on the verge of running out over the weekend. Nor the fact that the government have seen fit to change the guidance on PPE including in some instances making some items supposedly reusable!! Now why would they do that if there was plenty of stock?

Some areas/hospitals are ok (for now) and some aren’t, and overall UK stocks are low. It’s not difficult to understand and neither are the difficulties in getting hold of new PPE - the whole world is desperate for it, and the biggest manufacturing area basically shut down for 3 months. Why Turkey ‘of all places’ ? What’s wrong with Turkey making PPE for export rather than anywhere else ?

The problem is that, previously, when asked about supply of PPE, the briefings have been banging on about we've delivered x millions of items etc. What they failed to appreciate, or if they did, failed to publicly acknowledge, was how fast the items get used up. For example, London hospitals are reported as currently using 30-40k gowns a day.

We can all understand the problems of getting supply but a bit of transparency would go amiss. Also, surely we had time to see how many manufacturers in this country could ramp up production or switch production to help back in Jan/Feb!

Countryfile tonight mentioned that there was a charter flight carrying 140 Romanian crop pickers to the UK recently... Maybe they underestimated by a hundred or so?

This interests me. I live in the middle of seasonal Romania.

First question, when they enter the UK will they all be screened? And will they be protected?

They live out on the farms. But they shop en mass in bus loads at our badly distancing supermarkets. I can easily see our local chavs causing a kerfuffle, ignorant in the fact they are likely to be infecting the young Romanians here to save our crop of produce, rather than the other way round.

Incidentally I went shopping today and very nearly invoked the 'If I can punch you in the face as you walk past me, you're too fcking close' clause. I was daydreaming at the time. Never daydream. Not when there's good punching to be had.

Calm down old chap, don't go windmilling in again ! You were going to lamp baker lite yesterday too ! … I had an uncomfortable close shave at my local supermarket... while waiting in the 2M spaced queue an old boy just walked down past 6 of us to get his trolley then wheeled it straight back to the end of the line while we all jumped sideways.... later saw a woman in store in face mask, disposable gloves and wearing a clear plastic visor too ! It's scary was that to protect her or to protect those around her from herself ?

Then on the drive back saw someone driving their car while wearing a mask...all windows up, single occupant, no uniform, over cautious or what ?

Apple 'not told' about UK's latest app plans

The tech giant also expressed surprise that the UK was working on a new version of the contact-tracing app which incorporated the Apple-Google software tool. "We've agreed to join forces with Google and Apple, to bring the best bits of both systems together," Mr Hancock said. However, Apple said: "We don't know what they mean by this hybrid model. They haven't spoken to us about it."

Hancock caught lying again ? Surely not :lolol:

Maybe you have some 'alternative facts' you could point to which will repudiate those dreadful BBC lies

This may help

I called this yesterday on the grounds of reason, and the sound of his voice.

It is some of reassurance, going forward, that when Hanoncock lies, he sounds like he's lying, so one can discern the truth pretty quickly.

Unfortunately Boris' nodding dog fans just don't care.

It's unworthy news even if it was true.

Why do you bother this stuff, Watford.

Is it a deep hatred for anyone who has achieved more than you???

But why is it unworthy news?

The government fanfared they would have an all singing all dancing app ready, by early May, no Mid May, no the end of May or beginning of June - now it's just seen as the icing on the cake!

Lies, lies and more lies...

All singing and dancing world beating system, my arse... We haven't even got a dancing bear!!!

Unworthy news as it doesn't fit YOUR confirmation bias...!
