As a sportsman I thought plans may have been made for an unofficial minutes applause on 63 minutes (I believe it was his score). Doubt if there will be a silence pre game. I did see that the club have put out a cricket bat though.

Exactly. As tragic as his death was, there are probably many sportsman who have died over the last year but haven't had the publicity. I could understand if it was a cricket match we were going to or we were playing an Australian team but there really isn't any connection other than the 'global' sporting family. If people want to pay their own silent tribute that is up to them and they can do on 26 minutes, his age or what his score was when he got injured.
