I wish to object in the strongest possible terms to the appointment of Mr
Phil Prosser as referee in the forthcoming match between Brighton and Hove
Albion and Crewe Alexandra, at Withdean Stadium on Saturday.
Mr Prosser has previously accused fans of Brighton and Hove Albion of being
racist towards him. On the day of the game in question, the managers of both
Brighton and Sheffield United denied they had heard any racist language used
by the crowd. During the game, in October 2002, Mr Prosser constantly
provoked the normally well-behvaed fans with his idiotic style of
refereeing. My belief is that Mr Prosser's accusations against the Brighton
fans of racism (never proven) were to reinforce the cocoon that protects his
own deluded dream world. He displays complete inability to officiate a game
of Association Football at this level. Fans of many other clubs will tell
you this.
Please withdraw Mr Prosser from this refereeing appointment, because I fear
that some elements of the crowd may become uncontrollable if he is the
referee on Saturday.
Prosser was also responsible for sending off Andy Crosby in a match at Withdean against Rochdale a couple of years before the Sheffield United game, for, um, well, it was, um, you know, er... being a Brighton player probably.
Just sent email to football league and made similar points as above but also mentioned Charlie Oatway who got an elbow, but Prosser went to try and help him up as if he was play acting and then proceeded to give the foul to Sheffield! I had alook at ratetheref.co.uk only about 6 weeks ago and found his first game of the season said he gave 2 penalties, both of which were pathetic decisions, how can he still be refereeing, does he still have his own website, he did 2 seasons ago, it was the worst self licking pile of egomania id ever read.
