Muhammad Ali threw his Olympic gold medal into a river.

Dont have a prob with PNs story. Most players have their medals and trophies slung in the far corner of their parents attic anyway.

Very interesting to see all the replies.....and other peoples views on it.

I disagree with PN, but can clearly see most others don't see it that way.

I think most who went to our only cup final would have been bitterly disappointed had one of the Albion players said that.


Binned meaning he probably gave it too a charity auction or something of the sort. You cant compare what United do, to a smaller club who cherish even playing clubs like United and top tier teams.

United (under fergie) had a winners mentality, plenty of players have thrown out 'losers' medals in the past. For a club like United who used to win everything under Fergie getting a medal for losing in the final means nothing, they arnt going to want to put it next to their 100 winners medals are they.
