I reckon Jevon's would be quality, he's a proven goalscorer at league one level, but they'll be plenty in the queue ahead of us and all of them with more cash than we've got.

We had to sell/get rid how could we afford to down 1.5 mill for Virgs? We all know the money went in that big Falmer black hole and will do for the forseable future. We will only be a selling Championship/League 1 club for the next 6 or 7 years i expect.

1.5 million was way too good to turn down for virgo, I agree but if you don't invest then things like relegation happen, and will keep happening all the way to the bottom league again. Carry on like this we will be like Darlington. a 23,000 stadium in league 2 averaging 3500 because the no one wants to watch league 2 mid table rubbish week in week out.

Thats the thing, at this level we cant competitivly invest but at the lower level we can afford the same sort of level wages. For that reason I think we will do fine next year, but dont expect us to sign anyone well know we will end up with young players and players from abroad.

while i see turienzo as more of a ball playing midfielder/tricky winger i feel he could do a job upfront, and will probably be the differance between promotion and struggling

i just feel we're gonna be a one man team

Darlington had there own stadium and moved to something bigger, the fact that there Chairman was a bit dodgy didn't help them. We on the other hand don't have a stadium, we rent Withdean and it cost a bomb, we scarely break even on the gate receipt vs wage structure that we have at present. The only way we can increase the playing staff is to get a new stadium that people will want to go to (and which would attract investment) or by investing in players for the future. The fact that we would have sell some of these players is a fact of life, get used to it.

If people haven't realised that we have been on a financial tighrope for the last 10 years then the need to get grip. Personally I'd rather be in league 2 and have a future than the championship in the hands of the receiver. The league is littered with clubs that have blown financial constraint out of the window in the hope of success only to go into receivership.

Take your pick.
