There are quite a few decent keepers around, Smithies for Hudds is meant to be pretty good. Apparently Arsenal and Stoke have been after him.

Some of those, I think are right. However the wide men will surely be Pilkington and Lalana - both shoe-ins. Although they might well chose those two AND Bennett - they never worry unduly about whether the 11 picked would actually work as a team.

you could quite easily make the case for murray if he makes it into the top two scorers in the division which is i imagine what they would tend to base the strikers on

i cant see anyway ankergren would get in, purely based on the fact that he has had very little to do

Your first quote answers your second.

In the same way that the strikers will simply be the two who have scored the most, the keeper may well simply be the one who has conceded least.

I think Calderon would get in and El Abd may have a shout. Doubt any others would make it. Not saying that they haven't performed well, just that there have been better players in their positions.

Nobody has mentioned our last line of defence...Ankergren has a good a shout as any keeper having concided the least amount of goals. It isnt all down to the defence.
Lua lua woul have been a cert as well, had he not got injured(thats if loan players count, I pressume they do).
