Is that man in photo 2 having a wee on the escalator?
Edit: Actually scrap that. Instead, is he a Giant standing at the bottom of said escalator?

Hither (sometimes Thither)
Nice snaps.
Peterborough was a bloody eerie town. The mall from the station at about 5.30 was like Dawn of the Dead, but without the characters. Then walking through the centre with half the shops closed and a combination of freakish inbreds, many of them with carrier-bag-sized bra-less flappers on their mothers or sisters, or yokel kids fronting up to the posher bairns that dare to roam through on such a sunny day. It also seemed like a town full of ringroads. Maybe the suburbs have life in them, but the centre was a redundant deadzone and just a bit miserably discomforting. It took us about 40 minutes to find a pub anywhere too!

Neither here nor there
Nice pics, good to get a different perspective on the trip.

I liked the middle of Peterborough - some nice old architecture and unusually broad plazas. True, there wasn't an awful lot happening or much in the way of places to eat and drink, but it's got a quiet charm.

HMHB - were you in The Palmerston when we were playing darts? Great beer - nice hog roll - slightly quiet atmosphere though for a pre-game pub.
Should have hung around - three deep at the bar by 6.30
Great picture of our bar though - any chance we could post that on our facebook page

Not sure the darts was of even pub standard:) more holes in the wall than there was before, but the great selection of beer was definitely the cause of that!
