Pretty sure even though he was out of contract we’d be due a small amount in compensation for the costs of training him. Hopefully someone else actually knows the details of that.

We may be entitled to some training compensation through the FIFA solidarity payments ruling. It is roughly 90,000 euros per year he was with us as I understand the payments system. The major problem is that the compensation scheme appears to be a recommendation by FIFA and it is up to each FA if they implement it. Meaning we could quite easily end up with zilch.

This is different to a transfer fee though, we'd have only been able to negotiate one if Gwargis moved to another English team, or taken it to tribunal as he was under 24.
