PSB night on BBC4 tonight, to me a great, massively under rated band.

Please was the first album I ever got as a child and Discography is just a wonderful collection of pop tunes that I played over and over again on my walkman!

I’ve struggled to find many other fans over the years though, what does NSC say?

They’re incredible, dozens of great songs and still producing. I find their own musical influences interesting, similar to my own. 40 years and they went into being pop artists late! Spellbinding at Glast each time, despite Glast screwing up technically last time.

Another big fan. Seen them live a few times including their first live extravaganza. I also brushed past Neil Tennant as he was leaving Home Bar in Hoxton just as I was arriving. I have some weird memory that Chris Lowe‘s brother played in The Lord Nelson Pub’s football team.

Yeah Suburbia possibly my favourite but they really were tune after tune. Very hard to separate them, all equally brilliant.

I'd disagree that they were underrated. Just dated now. They were massive here and on the other side of the pond in their heyday. Number 1s both sides.

I saw them at Brighton Pride in 2017. A third of the audience loved them, a third didn't know who they were, and the other third were so off their head they didn't know what was going on.

I'd say Glast is more discerning. Music folk. It's interesting how you refer to your own kids. When I was last in an office most of the staff were around 20 years younger. It was always noticeable that those who had parents who were into music were clued up on the great bands, the others not. I love the Pet Shop Boys myself and thought they did a good set at Pride. But the youngsters I was with from the office (I say that loosely, we're taking late 20s/early 30s) were a bit 'meh'.

A more obscure track from 2006, waves of crisp synths sounds, I love it. A cover of the great Bobby O’s song.

Neil Tennant had a house just outside Wolsingham but spent most of his time in London so his sister lived there mainly. He was spotted buying toilet roll in the local Spar. It nearly made the regional news it was so exciting.
