I for one am not going to start having a pop at one of our players because he can't make this starting XI and that he's got people in his homeland who are proud of him and his progress.

I hope he manages to meet the challenge of being in a PL squad and get himself some time on the pitch.

There is a wider point that squad players are getting less used at this time of year. There are others, such as Alzate, Propper, Ali J, Connolly, Zeqiri, who got some decent time through winter when we had games every 3 or 4 days, but have fallen behind now that have one a week and don't need to rotate as much

I don't think he fits the system that Graham Potter wants to play - You have to remember that he was signed when CH was in charge and he tended to play with two wide players. Potter doesn't

True

6 points from 3 games and a settled team with a weeks break between means less opportunity . . . . things may change after tonights game . . . or maybe not . . .

I don't think any of us have seen enough to be able to say whether he will be good enough but any true fan will be hoping he is very good.. Not sure how anyone can say he is better than Connolly. I did think Ali J had 'come of age' when he scored against Chelsea and Bournemouth but he was then dropped and has gone backwards.

Not sure what makes a player into being a 'success' is it just luck (other than the ones with VERY high skill and positive attitude).

most players need a run and to gain confidence, not all of ours have got that, difficult to do as a manager when you're fighting for your life I guess.

In some ways it's a shame we don't have reserve teams these days. I do wonder if the occasional run-out with the U23s might have been useful. Whatever, I think he'll be off in the summer. If we can find a buyer, great, but it'll probably be a loan, I'm afraid.

He’s been written off a bit too unfairly IMO after only a couple of league appearances.

Would rather he came on as a wild card sub over AJ.

Not a high bar though TBH. I'd almost rather withdraw a tired player and not replace them than put on AJ.

Its a good point, but I think tau has enough quality about him that potter is keen to work his magic and do everything he can to remould tau into a player that fits into how potter likes to play.
I'm hoping potter succeeds too because tau does look very high quality.

In fairness, most comments from NSC users are based on the very limited time we have seen him playing for Brighton.
Graham Potter, the coaching staff and analysts are able to see him daily at training ground and will know how he compares to other squad members. Which is probably why they have chosen other players ahead of him.

It will be so helpful if we can get some points in the next 3 games to allow us to feel secure enough to start using some fringe players in our last few games of the season.

Brighton factually.....

We absolutely must sell him rather than a loan, teams would be queuing up to buy him.
He is quite clearly a talent and a far better prospect than some in the squad like AJ, he may not be deemed quite up to the physical challenges in the Premier league and by the way we play by the coaching staff.
I hope he stays and grows into the team, but let’s not loan a player out who is a prospect with just what two years or a year on his contract, it just makes no sense, cash in if he doesn’t fit in.

I think attitude is a big part of success with us especially positivity, patience ,effort, flexibility and faith in the methods and culture of potter and ashworth.
I think it's clear the club will do everything it can to help a player achieve success but the player has to have the right attitude for it to work.
I'm hoping tau does have the right attitude because I think we can turn him into a fantastic premier League player.

Who is having a pop at him - I'm most certainly not.

I'd just forgotten about him.

Interesting. Was Chris involved in pursuing this one? For some reason I had it in my head that this was more of an investment, not one for the first team at the time.

But I thought any Champions League team would be lucky to have him? It must be true, the South African Facebook people were ADAMANT that this was the case.

He's is Prince Charming and the King of the Wild Frontier all wrapped into one, let's hope he is a Goody Two Shoes
