[Humour] People you used to like but now can't stand

Thinking about it, I used to like all that Cambridge Footlights type mob. Dawn French, Hugh Laurie, John Sessions, et al all used to seem very funny. Now they all seem like self satisfied toffs who fancy themselves as authors and auteurs with wisdom they think the world needs to hear.

Morrissey for obvious reasons. Ricky Gervais, forgot the golden never punch down rule. George Galloway I liked when he was socking it to the Americans in the Senate over the Iraq War but now seems to have turned into a Scottish Jeremy Clarkson

Steve Coogan - liked him until he stood up and bawled at me in a restaurant for taking a photo of my late mum on her birthday. I guess the arrogant **** thought I wanted a picture of him or I was paparazzi in disguise. He had no excuse for being a dick.

Oh, and Ricky Gervais who was OK until he started taking the Micky out of cancer sufferers in his Dome gig - I’d been out of hospital about three weeks.

My further annoyance with Ricky Gervais is his many fans who think others who don't get his humour. I do (and like you) and it's far too often punch down like Jimmy Carr.

However, having watched it again the other night The Office "Training Day" episode is up there with the greatest episodes of Fawlty Towers, Dad's Army etc...

That's quite something, but I disliked everything he has done since.

Someone I know has similar views on Coogan like you for similar reasons. However that was a long time ago in the 90s when he was well known to act like a cock.

I love Partridge so much, he'd have to really really annoy me.

I like the TV shows that Gervais writes and acts in. Very talented writer.

Can't get with his stand up though, he just seems to go out of his way to be offensive and upset people. Punching down as you say.

Jake Humphrey. Absolutely loved his freshness when he started on BBC sport on F1 and football focus.

Immediately on joining BT sport he became a pompous arrogant know it all.

His High Performance podcast should be fascinating but all I hear is how he appears to hold himself in such high regard, pretty much trying to elevate himself to the same level as his guests. No humility.

Of course many will say he didn’t ingratiate himself to our fan base due to the comments around sacking Hughton and our playing style but I’ve hated him before all that!

I love their albums and singles up to Bohemian Rhapsody, but after that, they steadily became the Freddie Mercury band playing radio-friendly dross to stadiums. I find it difficult to hear their 1980s material and believe that this was the same band that produced gems such as Keep Yourself Alive, Liar, Seven Seas of Rhye, and Now I’m Here.

I knew a friend of his who was in my ex's family way back. He turned out to be a wrong 'un too, leaving her for another woman whilst she was being treated for leukaemia.
