Well the Iron Lady did look very rusty.
Did she get pissed? She's always been very fond of the booze, apparently.

Yep. We should never have got involved in WW11. That was criminal. Should have just let facism rule the world.

the crime in this case was committed by the nazis. war should never be an option (unless fighting a morally repugnant force - but in which case, the crime has already been committed).

well that's a slightly different point of view from thinking that war is morally wrong. Glad to see you realised your previous argument was logically flawed.

Sometimes you socialists can make sense, you see. Just took you a couple of weeks to think about it but jolly well done.

If it wasnt for Maggie Thatcher it would be an Argentine flag flying on BRITISH soil over this memorial to BRITISH soldiers who lost their lives.

War crimes my arse:nono:

Seriously though, who really gives a shit about the Falkland Islands? There must be like 20 people living there or something.

The REAL reason has nothing to do with morals.. Maggie was on her way out, country on the rocks, general election coming up.. and lucky for her the Argies tried it on. A dream come true for Maggie who invaded and won the vote from all the old war veterins, thus keeping her in power.

Its an age-old trick. Bush did a similar thing with Iraq.

Don't think Maggie would have lost the 83 election.

Don't forget that the Labour Party was imploding in on itself. Healey only just beat that phoney old marxist Tony Benn for the deputy leadership, Roy Hattersley described the 83 manifesto as the longest suicide note in history. They were completely unelectable and memories of Britain in the 70s with 3 day weeks and strikes, bodies not being buried, rubbish piling up in Trafalgar Square were still fresh in people's minds.

I suspect it would have been a case of the Tories forming a minority government with help from the Unionists.

No doubt the Falklands did help the Tories enormously, though.
