I am more pissed off with our inability to defend a set piece and our toothless pairing (any 2 from 3) up front than stupid VAR decisions, which seem to go against us more often than not.

That is why we are where we are. Perhaps Potter can use VAR to see just why Connolly needs to spend a season at somewhere like Reading.

jeez Simster. You'd do that to him? You're a cruel man.

You have to just despair with VAR

Why? It gave the right answer; just as it did last week and the week before. We have to stop looking with blue and white tinted specs. March got away with one at Villa, and was unlucky tonight. BUT BOTH DECISIONS WERE CORRECT.

Separate argument: was it clear and obvious error? But nor were Villa and Liverpool decisions. The issue comes with whether VAR is there to make a decision or not. The issue with overturning clear and obvious is that this is subjective; what is clear and obvious to one person is not to another, so we end up arguing whether video ref should have got involved or not.

I seem to be the only voter who thought that was a pen as soon as I saw the replay

I’d have been livid if the positions were reversed and it wasn’t given

It would have been a free kick to Southampton, see Welbeck earlier in the second half just outside their box

No, definitely not. It’s like KWP has done the long jump. We’ve robbed you lot in that game. We were awful on the ball.

I thought at half time - the referee will even things up. It so often happens now with VAR. I'm so sick of it.

I'm done tonight. Can feel heartburn and chest pains coming on. Is it worth getting so angry over football with what the world has been through this year?

Foul continues into area, stone bonker pen. It is actually where VAR works, just as it did last week. Gained a point, lost a point. Move on.

I thought that rule was, for example, for things like shirt tugging. e.g. if the attacker has the ball outside the box and the defender is grabbing on but he keeps going and enters the box and the defender keeps holding on, then it's a penalty.

Here it looked like the attacker was going to ground after the initial contact (as is their wont) so I would have thought it's a free kick?

anyway sour grapes, there was a good 20 minutes before the incident were it looked like we'd blow it so .... but it still hurts.

This. I thought March was lucky real time and once went to VAR, gave up hope. Think we need to accept it was the right decision and start to think about why Southampton are 5th and we are facing relegation scrap.
