Spain is very easy now, need to complete an on-line form to enter which generates a QR code, you are barcoded in, also require proof of vaccination to fly.

On return just complete a passenger locator form then day two lateral flow test which you book in advance £15

However we were contacted by track and trace a week ago which could only have been due to being on a flight back from Gran Canaria

Thanks for the info. It is just as I thought it was, which seemed very simple. NHS app proof with paper backup. Eurotunnel ask for a sworn declaration and proof of return test. I expected to be asked for a test when entering France similar to that when returning. Happy to show all this paperwork as I feel safer.
Driving as safer than sitting in a plane.

You also need to fill in the UK passenger locator form before returning - this has to have the 2 day return test code on it anyway……..

If you're going to France definitely worth downloading their Anti-covid app and scanning in your vaccine QR code. Made life a whole lot easier as they ask everywhere. Just been to Denmark, Sweden and Finland and apart from the Swedish authorities asking if I've had any contact with someone called Swansman, no one was that interested in Covid passes although a few people were checked in Finland but, as other have said, just have all your vaccine passes handy and keep a paper version and you should be fine. Obviously the passenger locator form on your return is a must.

Maybe worth adding that you can set up a UK passenger locator account in advance and enter most of your static details (UK home address, passport details etc). Then you only need to fill in details of your return trip and test code while you're abroad. Also really handy if you are planning more than one trip abroad. Think the account remains valid just so long as you log into it before six months have passed since your last login
