Hey everyone,

Last week I made it to the gym (literally, The Gym Group) for the first time in about 2 years since I ruined my knee. I have just received a PCN through the post saying I overstayed my welcome (was only there 45 mins!).

From googling, it seems the best thing to do is get in touch with the land owner to get this cancelled. However, I have no idea who the land owner is or how to find out. Also, do I still appeal the PCN?

Thanks in advance

'Land Owner' in this case means The Gym Group - even though they probably don't own the land. Complain like hell to them. Also, use MSE to get it cancelled if The Gym Group won't play ball - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/parking-tickets-fines-parking

The gym I use (not The Gym Group) requires you to register your car reg number when on the premises to prevent this. Having said that, my wife still on two occasions has received a PCN which when contacted they've cancelled. Looks like The Gym Group have similar.

Which parking bay did you park in, as it seems that bays have signs saying reserved for The Gym customers, reserved for Wren Kitchen customers or nothing.

Assume therefore that you either parked in a Gym space and didn't register when you entered the Gym, or without noticing parked in a Wren kitchen bay.

If a Gym space they should be willing to cancel the ticket

From the website for The Gym Worthing:

Free parking available on site for 2.5 hours. Parking session will need to be validated by entering car registration details on the console next to the management office

I’m a member of this gym and you have to enter your reg number into a machine which is inside the gym to the right as you come through the internal doors - there is also a notice board right in front of you telling you that you need to do this

The PCN doesn't say anything about the space I was in, just has photos of me arriving at 5.30AM and when I left
