Shock horror, 4 draws and 3 defeats in the last 7 games and people are ready to write Gus's obituary if we DARE to do anything but smash the granny our of Peterborough 3 or 4 to nil. I honestly cannot believe the SHITE on here sometimes.

Actually I can, I've been here long enough. Win, lose or draw, overreaction is the order of the day. We've had a slump in form and performances, its happened before and it will happen again. The WORST thing we could have done this season is hit top spot (again), as there's only one direction to go from there, then everyone starts running around panicking.

Christ up a stick, have a bit of perspective. We have no right to be rolling teams over week-in, week-out. Its still a work in progress. We had our best finishing position in over 20 years last season - now all of a sudden we're one of the big boys in this league are we ? Get real. Anyone DEMANDING nothing less than top 6 this season needs to set their sights to "Realism", and accept there are some bigger, better funded clubs in a very tough, competative league. And we ARE competing, but we are certainly not one of the frontrunners yet. Its going to take longer than a season and a bit.

What I dont get is a majority of people insisting that we have to get to the Premier League THIS season... WHY It seriosuly puzzles me. We are competing in a good league and growing as a club infront of 26,000 every week. If we dont go up this season, maybe next what will happen? Should Gus go? NO "attendances will drop" I hear you cry. Well if they do, then the term JCL and "fairweather" will certainly ring true. The utter f***ing mess of a team we used to endure at the withdean with BAS SAVAGE kneeing the ball in every 10 games, Jake Robinson the football equivalent of DIARRHEA and a midfield of VIRGO-Loft-El-Abd-FRASER ( where are they now? Geishas). If Gus and Tony hadnt come along then all of what we have now would be half as good.

We owe Gus and tony an enormous amount of respect. We owe them most importantly a supportive, patient fan base that will sing and support the team whole heartedly. The thought of boos against peterborough, a side we used to ship 4 goals against regularly, is quite astounding. Who are we exactly? We have not divine right to promotion or 3 points. When we went up that season from League One as champions I was astounded that that squad had done that. Look at the squad now we dont ouze class. We work very hard and much class is supplied by Gus and Tanno. People who seriosuly think wed be better with these players under new managment need to take a long hard look at themselves.

We played very well against Leeds, a strong team, on Friday. Peterborough arent as strong, but are on a good run. I think a 2-0 win is on the cards.

If we lose i would be disappointed, more so if they are all over us. But i wouldnt boo the team off and if anyone does do that at this stage and in our position, is incredibly fickle and would be better off supporting Crawley, you support the team through a bad patch - not boo them.

D-Day for Poyet ? No chance. If we were 23rd in the league - then id understand - but we are TENTH - our exact same position of finishing last season and we are THREE points off the play-offs - some people really need a sense of perspective.

Questioning Gus Poyet at this stage is sadly indicative of the modern approach to football.

I have criticised his team selection this season but just want to see that, as a relatively inexperienced manager, he is learning as he goes.

Last time out, picking Orlandi in our midfield three showed he HAD realised playing too defensive was not working. He is learning.

If he was the finished article he wouldn't be managing us.

We all get disappointed when results don't go well and by all means criticise but let's not go overboard.

I agree, I haven't heard anyone criticise the manager outside of this messageboard. Part of the problem on Nsc is that criticism, which in itself, is not a bad thing, goes over the top, so therefore, other posts then feel the need to redress the balance by going too much the other way. It's a bipolar messageboard at times.
