Think we will win,but don't think our problems will be solved just by doing that.

What a bunch of BEDWETTERS there are on this thread.

Shock horror, 4 draws and 3 defeats in the last 7 games and people are ready to write Gus's obituary if we DARE to do anything but smash the granny our of Peterborough 3 or 4 to nil. I honestly cannot believe the SHITE on here sometimes.

Actually I can, I've been here long enough. Win, lose or draw, overreaction is the order of the day. We've had a slump in form and performances, its happened before and it will happen again. The WORST thing we could have done this season is hit top spot (again), as there's only one direction to go from there, then everyone starts running around panicking.

Christ up a stick, have a bit of perspective. We have no right to be rolling teams over week-in, week-out. Its still a work in progress. We had our best finishing position in over 20 years last season - now all of a sudden we're one of the big boys in this league are we ? Get real. Anyone DEMANDING nothing less than top 6 this season needs to set their sights to "Realism", and accept there are some bigger, better funded clubs in a very tough, competative league. And we ARE competing, but we are certainly not one of the frontrunners yet. Its going to take longer than a season and a bit.

The impatience is quite ridiculous.

Wasn't out bad run 10 games last Season, he didn't come under any pressure from Bloom then from what I can remember. Not sure why he would now given a similar run of form that may very well turn round tomorrow night.

Good to remember that NSC does occassionally have sensible posts

Season two in Championship. Further consolidation required.

Utter bollocks thread. The only reason we didn't beat Leeds is because CMS missed a pen. That's nothing to do with Gus's management. Say we get a last minute penalty to beat Peterborough and the same thing happens again - is Gus's job REALLY going to be at risk because the unbeaten run extends to 8 matches??

Gus needed to change things vs Leeds, he did and we pissed all over them for the first 25 minutes. If he wasn't doing anything different then I'd have a problem, but there are encouraging signs from Dobbie and Orlandi.

The bigger picture is all the teams around us are dropping points too, so we're only 3 off the play-offs anyway. Too many bleating pussies on this thread.

It's a big game for sure, but why the assumption that if we lose we cannot win any of the next 5 games? Wolves are on a similar run to us. Bolton are 16th, Bristol City are struggling and Palace are just scum...

What a load of old rubbish is being spouted on this thread Gus's future with us is not in jeopardy, nor should it be, if we get 1 point or more tomorrow we will be better off than the corresponding time last season, so I read somewhere.

If we don't win one of the next 3, I think it could be bye bye Gus.

Based on what exactly ?

Do you seriously think Bloom has Gus on the ejector seat this month ? Really ?

If so, you must think Tony Bloom is a right TOOL.

Doesn't that depend on how quickly tony bloom wants us in the prem.
If he's not willing to show that much patience he may look around for alternative options who may be better equipped tactically and managerially to get us promoted faster......like Harry rednapp for example

Exactly. As much as I'd hate to see a young promising Albion manager get the chop, I think we're in a position as a Club and a business where there's no longer room for sentiment. We need to be challenging (properly challenging i.e. top 4) this season to retain the interest and keep this Club on track to where we want to be.

Well we're not spending anywhere near "top 4" money so - while it would be nice - it certainly wouldn't be the expectation.

Gus himself came out just the other day saying he was rushing too much and being reminded by those in charge that this is a 5 year project. He should be looking at promotion over the next 2-3 seasons, improving each season (which I believe we will have done when this season's out), realistically.

Somehow I don't think Tony's the type to be "shit or bust" or "all in" just like that. This is a long, long, long term project.

Sums it all up so well. I swear some people just disengage all logic when we lose shame or two.

We would be MAD to get rid of Gus. He makes mistakes sure but he is a young manager learning his trade. I think (and hope) Gus is a long term project for the club. If we do not win tomorrow it will be frustrating but hardly the end of the world.

This...If Crofts or Dicker come back into the midfiled at the expense of Orlandi or Buckley, i.e stick Barnes back out wide and only play one, natural wide man. I will seriously think Poyet has got issues that need sorting out. If a player needs resting after Saturday, that's fair enough, but keep the same shape. Square pegs in round holes does not work, if he has finally worked this out, fair enough but if his arrogance, that he knows best as I suspect comes through again and he changes the shape back and we lose or even draw, it's time for him to go and play golf I think.
I said somewhere the other day, the thing that concerns me is that Gus hates conceding so I wouldn't be surprised to see a packed midfield again and abandon the beautiful football we played on Friday.

Someone up top posted that if we play like we did against Leeds, we will piss it. It would also be good if Posh play like Leeds did, and then I agree, we will piss it. My fear is they will do what the last few teams did before Leeds and just put 9 players between the ball and goal while we are attacking, then nick one on the break, with us then unable to break them down ???

I think the only game we've looked really bad was Blackpool and we got a point there. We played better against Middlesborough and Leicester but came away with nothing - as long as we are still creating chances we should be ok. We do need to be more clinical but this is nothing new, when we won L1 we missed chances for fun.

I 100% agree with you. That is the very reason he will never be a top manager, unless he learns to be flexible, learns from his mistakes and sometimes admit it not always everyone else's fault if we don't win. Sure we had some bad decisions go against us against Leeds, the pen, Brown should have been sent off etc. But that should not detract from the fact we still should have won the game easily,,in truth Leeds were quite shocking.
