If anyone's got a loan or credit card and taken out this insurance, there's a chance its been mis-sold to you as you may not have needed it. You might be able to re-claim.

See this article on the excellent Martin Lewis site

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

This could amount to lots of money for financial institutions and strangely moneysavingexpert.com was hit by an attack, which downed the site for a couple of days. What a co-incidence?

If you think you might be effected take a look. It seems like you can claim going back up to 6 years. There's lots of advice and templates for letters to try to claim it back.

Good luck !!

IMO, anybody taking out P.P.I. for any kind of non-secured debt is a fool.

They may or may not be fools - this will effect lots of different people, but I know a couple of young people who have taken it on the advice of their banks, when they obviously didn't need it. As we have seen before it seems like banks and credit card companies have been irresponsible.

Unfortunately everyone is not as wise as you obviously are. I posted this to help people, who may have been victims of mis-selling, not just those who have been foolish.

Incidentally, I never go anywhere near this type of insurance.
